how would one go about making a sims vo series? Like casting, editing, etc

Hi anon! Great question. I have time so I’m going to type out every bullet point as brief as I can!

1. Story It definitely would start with what would potentially fuel your series. Doing a lot of research and initial brainstorming about the concept can be good for starters. Next is your character building– and I stress that you need to do character building first and then your setting. Basically just flesh out what you want to happen in the story firsthand. This is important. How you decide to go by planning it is entirely up to you too; some directors would go the extra mile to even storyboard their series, but personally as long as you have a concrete outline of what you want to happen throughout the whole series, the outlines per episode and scripts will follow. :)

2. Casting Once you’ve done all that, you cast it out. You could set up casting call ads over at CCC or join Discord groups for Voice Actors and Sims Directors, you just have to make sure that you know what you want with a particular character’s voice. You will essentially be working with them until you finish your project, and this could take up to years to do (unless, you know, you’re not busy as fuck like me and it takes me 3 years to put out episodes ahaha). Also note if the role is paid or unpaid. This is a whole ‘nother discussion I could get into, but this is the gist of it for now.

3. Filming & Editing I lumped this two together because naturally they go hand in hand, but the most important I can stress with here is that when filming, make sure you find out what suits best for your workflow. Whether you film with Sims 2, 3, or 4, you need a particular software to capture everything (and trust me, the in-game camera is horrid). My best practice is to use FRAPS or your GPU’s own recorder (I use NVIDIA’s Shadowplay, though not sure for AMD) and just set up hotkeys for when you need to film certain scenes. It’s ideal to have a checklist of what you need to film, or keep your script on a separate window or something just so you could keep track of what and how many shots you need.

For editing, I think this is a bit tricky. I generally use Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects that I’ve used since I was still in college, but your choices shouldn’t be limited to that! There’s Final Cut Pro (if you use a Mac) and Sony Vegas. I started with Sony Vegas before Premiere Pro so it’s also good, I just enjoy Premiere Pro’s workspace more lol.

Hope I'm not too late to answer this one! I mainly use Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. I used to use Sont Vegas but figured PP and AE were more user-friendly (at least to me, lol).

Photo Booth

25 poses for new (4x) photo booth object & accessory

@eslanes, @joannebernice and I have released another posepack! There’s a total of 25 poses, with 2x poses for 4 individuals, 1x pose for a trio and the rest being couples poses. There are 2x NSFW couples poses within the pack that are not previewed here.

I’d like to say that this pack is actually very much a TEAM effort; not just with the poses but I’d like to thank @siminimonster for extracting the photo booth files from S3, so I could convert them to S4 when the TSRW wouldn’t function for me. There are open and closed curtain versions of both styles of photobooth, and all can be found either under ‘statues’ or ‘Deco: Misc’ catagories. Or you can search by ‘Quid’ to find them.

I’d also like to thank @soloriya for giving me permission to transform her ring box mesh into an accessory. The mesh and original textures are her hard work. You can find the object version >Here<. I’ve made both an inwards and outwards facing version of the accessory for other pose-makers. (and watch this space.)

Finally, I would love to thank @eslanes and @joannebernice for working with me on all these mad projects we undertake together. It’s been a lot of fun to work with both!

Okay, having got all of THAT out of the way! Statue placement is very easy. You simply need to drop however many needed statues into the photobooth. There’s a handy guide in the zip with the posepack.  You will need the photo booth and ring box accessory,  Andrew’s PosePlayer and the Teleport Statue.
