Scarlett barely had time to find enough energy to participate in the exchange that occurred with the strangers before her. Not when breathing felt like it took every single ounce of energy she had left. However, just when her lips parted to voice something mildly witty and sarcastic, the faith sound of the dead caught her attention. The brunette’s head snapped back, the entire store fell silent while they listened. “Fuck.” She groaned, shifting her position so she could now stand behind one of the large metal aisle displays. Her head then turned towards the strangers who could be more of a problem than the death that closed in. “Be quiet, don’t —” she paused, sucking in a painful breath of air. “try anything.”
if corrie felt weak before, she felt even more weak now. her weapons were nothing compared to the others. her small collection of knives barely got her by to begin with, how in the hell would it fight off something that was outside the glass doors? the answer was clear, it wouldn’t. her breath hitched at the strangers words, gaze moving towards her for a moment, feet taking a few steps back. “if we’re going to survive..we..we have to work together.” she breathed out. “quickly.”
To be fair, he probably should have assumed that a GROCERY STORE would be a popular destination for other survivors. Even so, Arrow’s heart raced as he came head to head with not one group, but two. He was so close to the exit, he’d even glanced over at VIOLET RAINE and then back at the people he’d encountered. “Listen,” the blond started but he had to take a beat to figure out what he’d even say next, “I’m in the military. We can figure this out.” That seemed to be his most impressive line. He was in the military, he could figure it out. When one of those things didn’t apply anymore and the other was a lie and then some, he knew that he’d have to come up with something else. A distraction.
“Look, it’s getting dark outside.” He gestured to the large store front, windows displayed all of them to the outside world. Tacky posters of sales ads were plastered on them, but that barely covered the group at a current stand still. “You guys can take the rest of what’s here, we’re just gonna be headed out.” He added in calmly, as he attempted to move away from the group as slowly as he could, as though he was waiting for nods of acceptance of this idea. He continued to be patient, in hopes that if he didn’t act reckless, he might be able to get through this unscathed and then some.
In his pack, he now had first aid supplies, he had MEDICATIONS and a little bit of water that he’d just barely been able to find. He figured he was lucky, that if no one wanted to take what he had, which he only planned to share with his companion, he’d be alright. That was, until he’d heard several slams —- BANG, BANG — he glanced over to the windows.
The dead. Shit.
the last time she’d seen other survivors was ages ago. the only other person she’d been with for what seemed like months was vega, the room was silent, almost too silent. weapons were drawn on all sides as her gaze moved about about the unfamiliar faces. she almost felt weak holding up her small knife, but it was all she had. she was never good with guns, and if she were being honest, knives were much more effective out in this world. but still, everyone had much more..advanced weapons than her. the first sound to fill the quiet store was that of a man. corrie’s eyes landed on a blonde, he didn’t look much older than her. her brows knitted at his words. military. even if he was someone who served our country, it wouldn’t be much help. she was a doctor, vega was a cop, yet here they were. in a world turned to shit. “no offense..but, i don’t think careers have any effect anymore.” she replied, accent making it clear she wasn’t from this part of area. in fact, growing up around Hispanics gave her her own accent of her own, even if she is from the states.
he was much larger than her, hell, he could probably knock her down with just a shove, but here she was, making comments she didn’t need to stay. her eyes narrowed at this words. from what she could figure out, him and the other came from the section of the store with the medical supplies. those were supplies she needed. of course, food was just as important. her group would have enough food for days (granted, it was only two of them). his words were reasonable, they get what they need and they leave, she was sure her group would be doing the same. but it was more the group of four on the other side that worried her more. this place seemed almost untouched, there was plenty of food, and clothes from what she could see. she was about eto part her lips to speak, ask if there were any medical supplies left in the store when an obnoxiously loud noise filled her ears. dammit, not again.
slowly moving her gaze to the door, she saw body after body. the herd seemed small at the moment, but deep down she knew if they kept this up, more would come. glancing at the group around her, she simply shook her head. “i don’t think anyone’s leaving.”

Past hobbies: Besides schooling, Corrie’s favorite hobbie was exploring. Whenever she had the chance, she’d always go up to the lakes and rivers and just explore it for hours, whether it be by foot or boat. She just wanted to know the area. Painting was another hobby, but she was never good at it.

"BEING BAD FEELS PRETTY GOOD, HUH?”
down a busy street walked two people. a woman and a young girl. the woman was dressed in thick armor, something you’d see out of a comic, and the girl..well, she appeared to be wearing normal clothes from what was seen. the warrior had just stopped an attempted break in, something you see every night in these parts of town. she remembered the girl. she ran into her at the coffee shop, stopped the drink from spilling on her. but that was when she was diana prince, not wonder woman. so she couldn’t say anything.
it wasn’t that the two were doing anything bad. at least, in diana’s opinion anyways. with a tilt of her head, and a raise of her brow she looked at the other. “i can’t answer your question, young one. i wasn’t being bad. but it did feel good making sure those nimrods were locked up.” she replied, a weak smile on her lips. “what are you doing out here so late, anyways? don’t you have school tomorrow? it’s not safe for a young girl to be out here.”

“WHY ARE YOU BEING SO NICE TO ME?”
as she sat in one of the stools that were placed around the island in the kitchen, a simple shrug fell from the womans shoulder, her gaze moved from the brunette to the window. all she did was make him a cup of coffee and some toast. the amazon didn’t think anything of it. it seemed the people here were no longer used to the act of kindness. it upset the woman. how could a world filled with good people be so cruel?
“everyone just needs a little kindness..a little something to show them that some people actually do care for one another.” she spoke, voice soft. she wasn’t too familiar with the man next to her, but had seen him around the tower many times since she had gotten here. “besides, you look like you haven’t slept in weeks..and being victim of that, i figured the least i could do was give you some energy for the day.” diana commented, a light grin forming on her lips.
the brunette let her gaze fall back to the brunette, arms crossed on the table as she did so. she took a sip of her own coffee, the hot liquid running down her throat. what a lovely feeling, she thought. “i apologize if i came off a little strong or something..I don’t mean too.”

“WHY ARE YOU BEING SO NICE TO ME?”
“what do you mean?” diana questioned, brows knitting together as a look of confusion formed on her face. she hadn’t a clue why wanda would ask that. there wasn’t a reason in the world as to why diana would be unkind to her. after all, she hadn’t disrespected her in anyway.
gently taking the spoon in her hand, diana twirled the metal object around the cup, watching the liquid mix together. she had made herself a cup of tea, being as she wasn’t that big of a fan of coffee in the late evenings and had been perched up on the couch reading a book for most of the night before the other woman came. it wasn’t long until the two got into a rather intense conversation. it wasn’t anything serious, persay..it was just, random things, things that were on the womens minds.
the warrior was raised to be kind to everyone she met until given a reason not too, and the people in this place were no different. as the two sat in silence for a moment, the brunette gave the other a small yet sincere smile. “i’m always kind to the people that deserve it most, and to the ones that are kind back. you haven’t given a single reason as to why i wouldn’t respect you. you’re a strong woman and i value that as a woman myself. i’ll always be nice, wanda.”
wanda maximoff was tired, and yet still full of energy. it was a paradox she didn’t care to think too heavily on, however. training with zach too a lot of energy from her. it wasn’t really her magic that wore her out, just trying to keep up with zach. and not let his snide digs get to her (though she gave as good as she got). it wore her down, but after honing her powers she always felt ready to go out and USE them in some way that might be helpful. a patrol would be good. get rid of some more hyped up energy before seeing who was at the tower, or checking to see if bucky was free, or if pietro wished to go some place.
she had not meant to end up on patrol. it wasn’t planned, and she was not in costume. wanda just wasn’t ready to head back to the tower, feeling that she could do some good out on the streets. people had finally started winding down from the last major attacks, and the lower level criminals were coming out of hiding to try and get in on the action. she expected muggers perhaps, maybe a robbery - she didn’t hope to find these things, but in large cities there seemed no way to escape crime.
yet for a while her patrol turned up nothing. luckily for all the potential victims out there, it was a relief not to see cowardly and cruel behaviour. then, just as her thoughts turned to heading back to the tower to refresh, just as her energy buzz was beginning to wind down… she heard it. a scuffle, a FIGHT of some sort. her pace quickened and she ran to find the source. and as she neared, wanda was luckily to miss the man that went flying past her.
it startled her, but he didn’t stop at all. there was certainly a fight going on and wanda couldn’t afford to wait. but it seemed that the situation was under perfect, or almost perfect control.
wonder woman was… quite magnificent to see in action. there were many qualities wanda admired about the woman, and her ability to fight so gracefully and in such a manner as this? it was certainly up there. wanda stood now, one hand shooting out before her as a hex was unleashed - hitting a man coming up on diana from behind with the intent of attacking. oh, wonder woman could have taken him, but why take that very tiny risk when she could help? wanda trusted wonder woman, trusted diana, and the very aura she was getting from these men told her they had been up to no good. but what she didn’t yet know.
“i’m sure you don’t need much assistance, but i’d be glad to lend a hand,” wanda said, moving forwards and flinging out another hex towards a man about to get up from the ground. the group was small, but it would still be better to deal with this quickly.
to say diana had voluntarily come down to stop a burglary that was going to happen would be a straight up lie. she had far more important things to do than this. yet here she was, doing what she did best. even though the warrior had more important things to do, a crime was a crime in her book. and she didn’t stand for any of it.
the woman’s shield was held tight in her own hand as she shoved the man away from her. she thought she had done it easily, not having any intention on seriously injuring these men. just..teach them a lesson, that’s all. but as she did so, the man went flying across the alley way. a look of guilt spread across the womans face for a moment as he did so, knowing that the man would most likely be in severe pain.
the sudden color of red startled the woman, her concentration focusing on the figure approaching. she recognized the red hexes with ease. it was wanda. she wasn’t very familiar with the woman, but found much interest in her. and even though the two weren’t close, she still cared for her. a light smile came to her lips for just a moment at the others words. she was quick to make her way over towards the girl, happy that she was there to aid her. but just as she was about to speak, the few men she thought she knocked down came running towards two. her features went from pleased to annoyed to just plain frustrated in only a few seconds.
she had been going easy on the men in hopes of not injuring them, but clearly that wasn’t working. maybe she was going too easy on her. “that’s enough.” she spoke, shield falling to the floor. with an aggravated grunt she simply raised her hands in the air and with one swift movement, slammed the two braces attached to her arms together causing the familiar light to flood the street around her.
as the wind cleared, the only ones who were left standing were Diana and Wanda. Turning to face the other, she let out a small breathe. “I’m sorry about that..I didn’t think I would need to do that. Are you alright?” She questioned, concern present in her voice. “Thank you for aiding me.”
