Lonely // (Open RP)
Calico ran into the nearest alley, tears streaming down her face. She wiped them away carelessly with the back of her hand trying to focus on running. It had been too long since anyone had contacted her and she just felt useless. Back to where she started with no friends, family, or anyone to love. Lee had promised her a place to stay, but Cal felt like a burden and didn't want to feel like that anymore.
Running to the edge of Gotham City, she finally stopped near the city limit. Ducking under a bridge, she sat and just bawled.
"When did things start feeling like this?" She asked herself. Callie looked down into the dirt and saw a small ant. Letting it crawl onto her finger, she raised it to her face.
"Hey little guy," Calico said sniffing. "I bet your life is easier, hey? No one to worry about, no feelings...Just a job to be done." She put it back on the ground and wiped her nose with the back of her jacket sleeve. Her tattoo stirred and rose into the air. Playing with the shape of it, Cal looked out at the water. The city lights reflected off the surface and the waves looked peaceful. Forming the tattoo into a ladder, she slowly climbed to the top of the bridge. Shuffling her feet to the edge, she looked out at the water one more time.
"This is it," Cal mumbled through the tears. "Only one thing left to do."
Almost reluctantly, she leaned forward and felt herself falling toward the watery grave below her...
