you know what i love about emma carstairs??     how she just doesn’t give a f**ck sometimes.     she is loyal to a fault,    but that one moment where she went to the silent city    &    almost destroyed all of the parabatai bonds just so she could be with jules,     was savage.     i mean even julian was shocked.    he never expected emma to be the one to do this,    he always thought that he would.    however,    he knew it was something she was going to regret,    she knew it too,   & thank god she did not go through with it,    but holy smokes that was a close one.    she is a warrior at heart.    would literally give up her life for julian & the blackthorns,    my selfless girl.    i love her so damn much.    she is so fierce    &   badass,    but her heart is so full of love.    i could cry over her beautiful,     beautiful heart.     she jokes around   ( the girl’s got jokes for days,  gotta love her )   &   acts like things don’t bother her,     but when you love hard,   you hurt hard,   & dammit jules,    you really hurt my girl badly.    EMMA    ,    I ADORE YOU SO FREAKING MUCH,    YOU DESERVE THE WORLD.   emma   &   jules get their happy ending,    but i’m so conflicted at the same time because i truly adored them as parabatai.    they feel each other so deeply because of it,   &    i just can’t help but wonder if that bond will still be as strong now that they aren’t parabatai anymore.     idk  . .   SO CONFLICTED.   it was just too simple of an ending after everything they had gone through.

                  Clary had been away for a little less than a month now. She decided a vacation was a great idea - she needed a break from everything, a little peace and quiet…though the trip to Italy hadn’t exactly been without chaos, it hadn’t been life threatening danger for once. The time abroad had given her a lot of time to have fun, maybe be someone other than Clary Fairchild for a while. It had been incredibly good for her. But, of course, at some point returning home was necessary, as much as part of her wanted to stay on vacation - the feeling of not having a care in the world wasn’t often one she was allowed. But, after a little extra pushing from Isabelle - well, more like the other girl telling Clary on the phone that if she wasn’t back within the next week, Isabelle would come drag her home by her hair - helped her see sense, and so she had been on her way back to her Institute when she had an idea. 

                     It had been far too long since she and Emma Carstairs spoke. Clary really cared for her - after all, the younger girl reminded Clary a bit of herself, and she really was a force to be reckoned with. She liked spending time with her, loved the Institute they were at - and maybe a small part of her also wanted to avoid going to see Simon, Isabelle, Alec and Jace. It wasn’t as though they had done anything wrong - if anything, Clary felt like she had. Perhaps it had been a cowardly thing to do - to run away while everyone was still healing. One could argue that Clary had been healing too, but as per usual, she paid little thought to herself. That was how she decided to show up in the kitchen, with a coffee in hand, patiently waiting for Emma and the Blackthorns 

                     When she spotted blonde hair, a huge grin appeared on her features and she set her coffee down, taking a step forward as the young woman walked through the door. “I was in the neighborhood. Thought I’d stop by and say hi.” Clary said jokingly, a little laugh escaping her. “Hi, Emma. You look amazing! I’m so happy to see you!”

    ANOTHER DAY,    ANOTHER FIGHT WITH A DEMON.     it had become a normal routine for them the last few weeks.     shax demons liked to hide out in the caves by the beach   —–    ugly little things they were.     gave emma the creeps.    she wondered why there had been so much DEMON ACTIVITY there lately.   normally it was her     &     jules fighting them off,     but mark    &    cristina decided to join in on the fun this time.     it was good for mark,     to be back into his old habitat ever since returning from the wild hunt.     no doubt he was different,      but this was where he belonged    —–     with the people that loved him.     it was nice seeing the half fae get along so well with cristina.     she fit right in so perfectly     &     emma absolutely adored her.   mark     &   cristina headed over to the shadow market in attempt to gather some intel on these demons lurking in the shadows as of recently.       julian went to go find ty who had run off after an argument with livvy,    dru had texted him about it as they were returning back to the institute.       emma would have offered to go with him,    but figured they could use some brother bonding time together.     instead,    the blonde returned back to the institute where she could not wait to jump into a hot bath after the   c r a z y   night they’d had.        suddenly,      a flash of ginger locks caught her eye while walking in.    that familiar voice that had soothed her as a child after losing her parent’s.    emma could not help the excitement she felt upon seeing the redhead.     ‘clary ?!    i thought you were in italy !’    a huge grin dances along tired features.    ‘i’m happy to see you too,    but you don’t have to lie.     i look absolutely disgusting right now.’    a light chuckle escapes plump lips.    ‘ i’d offer a hug,    but unless you want some demon ichor with that coffee,   i’ll skip out on the hugging until   a f t e r   i shower.’   she winks playfully.

A F T E R         the incident with Juilian, Daniel had stayed within his room for an abundant amount of time. Lucile had showed up after hearing what happened and came to bring him comfort; to ease the screaming of his soul. There wasn’t anything Daniel could keep from his Parabatai - - - he disliked keeping secrets. Even when someone spoke a lie he would always have this habit of smacking his lips as if he could taste the vile words. He’d told Lucile how he had feelings for Emma and she could see how much it hurt him. Daniel was one to feel so deeply more than others, to care, to give. 

W I T H   ,  so many things going on with him lately it made him feel as if he were going insane. Lucile had told him the same was happening with her but the voices she was hearing were ones that were the most volatile. They played on her anger and frustrations, her temperament. It was odd, this life. He’d rather just be a mere mortal; no powers, no special abilities, not having to worry about loving someone with a curse…

Y E T  ,   here he stood outside of Emma’s door, hands inside his pockets. He wanted to properly apologize to both her an Julian for how he reacted. Another thing about him, he never gave up on the people he cared about no matter how many times he’d push them away.

   CRISTINA HAD GONE AWAY         on a mission these last few days,    leaving emma feeling alone    &     disheartened.     she fought a few demons the other night with julian,    blew off some very much needed steam.    it felt good to fight,    it was a distraction from the turmoil taking place in her heart.     julian fought alongside his parabatai,    but did not speak a word of what had transpired the other night.     it was as if nothing ever happened at all.    as much as emma wanted to bring it up,    to talk about it,    she laid it to rest.     daniel had been hiding out in his room,    the blonde had not seen him leave once,    leaving her to wonder if he was even eating anything.    it hurt,     hurt to not be able to talk to him.     she could have gone into his room but decided to respect his privacy    &        let him deal with his emotions alone.     but he had not been a l o n e,    she’d seen lucile go into his room.     the feeling it had over her was not pleasant.    jealousy ,    that ugly emotion had taken over.    he kept his distance from emma,    but welcomed his parabatai.    the one he had opened up to emma about his deep feelings for.    they were going through the same thing,    being in love with their parabatai.     the torture of never being able to act upon those feelings because of a wicked curse.      it was what had brought them closer.     however,    she could not help but wonder if he was just using her to get over lucile,     or if his feelings were genuine.     hers were,   there was no denying it.    it    S C A R E D    her to feel for someone other than julian.    emma could not take being away from daniel another minute.    she threw open her bedroom door   &    was determined to go    &     speak with him.    however,    it did not take long to be in his presence,    daniel was standing right in front of her door.   golden hues widen in surprise,     mouth opened but the words could not find their way out.    she gulps down hard before attempting to speak once more.    ‘daniel,    i was just about to come see you.’    eyebrows furrow together in confusion.     ‘is everything okay?’

‘ i   still   can’t    believe    my    parabatai     rune     is     gone.    it’s so weird,   not having one. ’   they had all endured so much in the last few weeks,   but everything for once seemed to be okay.    who knew how long it would actually last for,   but it certainly felt n i c e.    sitting on the beach,     talking with clary.   jace    &    julian were swimming in the ocean,    alec    &    magnus finally married.    they had a moment to breathe   &   be  happy.   emma still could not believe that her    &    julian could finally be together.    no more hiding it,   no more fearing for the worst.    they were together,    &     could not be happier.

UPDATE! Xkit has just updated the “Old Blue” extension. Open your Xkit on your dash and either select old blue, of if you were using it already like I was… click on its little icon under “my xkit” tab.

Select use old font family, and set the base font back to 14px  and everything is more or less back to normal :) A THOUSAND BLESSINGS ON the XK folks <3
