had to take my dog to get MANY teeth extracted and they let me keep them! cleaned them up and they are currently drying in a jar ready for storage.
also got a blue yabby claw given to me that i left to soak for about an hour earlier. will upload a video of it afterwards!
We stackin skulls over here
And once again tumblr ruins photo quality 💔
Sorry for the inactivity, my projects have been going slow lately... but I finished up this big fella tonight! He’s in perfect condition, has all his teeth and everything. My brother and his dog found most of the skeleton in the woods, which is crazy because I’ve never found any bones in all my years of walking through there. Still don’t have a name for them yet so I’m open to suggestions!
Degreasing is done for the year, until I set up the insulated heated tub.
Over 70 individual art pieces and many more natural specimens make up this finished piece. I have been working on this one for a while! I’m calling it “Unnatural History Museum”
The second image is a detail shot, the third a long exposure shot of it in the dark so you can see the glow-in-the-dark elements
My raccoon skull is almost clean! I had to piece him back together a bit
Can anyone identify this ?
We compared it to racoons, opossums, and foxes but nothing seems quite right ??
Bones and structures of the cranium and mandible
Mi.nk skeleton articulation
best course of action with this? rigor mortis hasn't set in.
My first hyena skull! The teeny, termite eating, aardwolf! Smallest animal in the family. Unlike the brown, striped, or spotted hyenas they are insectivores. They eat insects exclusively, predominantly termites, with the use of their long sticky tongues. They’re small, shy, nocturnal animals and not many studies or research has been some on them since they’re so private and elusive. (instagram)

i just finished my first skull! it's a white headed pigeon skull and he took about a month to clean. feel free to ask questions if you like!
just got rid of all the water because it isn't really mascerating and i figured i could just let more flies and maggots do their job and hope it doesn't smell so much next time i go work on it. so smelly now. not enjoying this part.
Baby zebr.a skull!
You know how much I love interesting pathologies… so naturally I had to share these photos with you guys!
This is a conjoined bat that was either stillborn or died at birth (as evidenced by the attached placenta)! They were discovered in southeastern Brazil in 2001 and researchers believe the twins are Neotropical fruit bats (Artibeus).
These photos were taken by Nadja L. Pinheiro, from Área de Embriologia, Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro.
