Hello long time no post
Dante Daniel Hartl — Hunger As the Wheel of All (serie Day Dreaming) hawk taxidermy, peacock feathers, glass, wooden board, 2020.
I am proud to say that the habitat piece I put together for this group of Venezuelan Troupials earned a Best in World title this past week at the World Taxidermy Championships in Coralville, IA. The birds themselves also did very nicely with scores in the mid 80s.
This is a couple years old. I do still have this little guy somewhere. It's a dead bug I found and gave him a rat tooth as a crown :)
I want to put in as a disclaimer that any content I post from my collection of bones/bugs etc. is from things that I found already passed on. I lived on a really fast road and cars would hit bees, moths, hornets, butterflies, anything so much that I actually contacted the dept. of ag in my state to make sure it wasn't something else. I don't trap animals or hunt them for this. I am not against people that hunt for food but I am against fur trapping.
Freshly molted cicada - This is avaliable as a print!

"For life and death. Buzzard and raven fighting."
It’s easy to overlook just how big ravens are until you see one next to a buzzard…
finished fish pendants + a hand braided cord for the bluegill!
salmon and trout go into my shop Friday ;)
I’m still alive!!! Just in art school!!! Here’s a few recent paintings I’ve made that relate to vulture culture that I thought I might as well post on here!!
Much better! I reorganized a bit so my llama skull wouldn’t be as hidden too. I also got a neat deer painting print to put under my taxidermy deer heads. Slowly working on decorating every inch of that wall
I also got a ton of cheap frames for spore prints! I got a 3 pack of some cheapo ikea ones that I can paint with some of the house paint I have left over.
Cleaning the top of my dusty cabinets and trinkets today and wanted to share my ivy and such, it’s about 20 feet long now! (Got the elk skull from a taxidermist whose client never paid for it)
Set Sun
Bone mandalas! I talked to the creator and he said he finds them and his friends who have farms let him collect there. I asked if he wanted credit or a link when I posted the pictures I was taking, and he said something like "just say they were made by some crazy old hermit in Granite, Wyoming."
White Stag
Gouache and ink on wood panel, 6x8"
normal guy who transitions into a different, equally normal guy
guy who changes his name from robert to tom
that genuinely makes me happy. good for him. good for him
Softmount taxidermy wolf with antique horse bells collar. His name is Victor, after Victor Frankenstein.
