Pattern is one lie-loving Cryptic. So in his opinion, who are his favorite liars across the Cosmere?

#10: Kaladin

"All windrunners are liars but Kaladin is my favorite! What is honor? It's a lie that humans agree to follow. Only they cannot decide what it is or what it means. A collective lie but a splintered one. Sometimes Kaladin almost seems to realize. But he cannot accept the lie or the truth. He's no lightweaver!"

Shallan & Wit have had two podcasts before: One on cryptids and one one on conspiracy theories. Now for a third, equally fantastic podcast topic: Is It Yuri?

1. Introduction

Shallan: Wit, it's time to do a podcast about me. Wit: I'm on board! What would you like to focus on, fellow podcaster Shallan? Shallan: Let's examine moments from my life and ask the all-important question: Was It Yuri? Wit: Do we have criteria for juding? Shallan: Yes. Shallan: Pure vibes. Wit: Let's do it!

2. Jasnah soulcasting poison out of Shallan's veins

Shallan: Once, when I had ingested poison, Jasnah soulcast that poison out of my veins while I was dying. Shallan: She saved my life. Wit: But...was that yuri? Shallan: Oh, absolutely. Shallan: The intimacy! Her power flowing through my veins! Me, unconscious on the floor and at her mercy! Shallan: Aside from the whole "nearly dying" thing--very hot. Wit: Some listeners would claim that the nearly dying thing makes it hotter. Shallan: ...And they're not wrong, honestly.

Shallan: Yes, it was obviously yuri when I fought Re-Shephir. Shallan: I pressed into her. She pressed into me. We got into each other's minds. Shadow tentacles were involved. Shallan: Although controversial--yes. Marrying Adolin was yuri. Wit: Oooh, I got this one! Wit: Is it because Jasnah, wanting to keep you in the family, arranged a marriage between you and her cousin, in a sort of gay-replacement-fantasy? Shallan: What? No! Shallan: We're just both queer, Adolin and I. We love each other in a queer way. Shallan: That too is yuri. Wit: ... Wit: Well I suppose I can't argue with that.

Lezian Attempts to Use The Five Love Languages to Flirt with Kaladin

The so-called "five love languages" are scientifically bullshit, from what I understand, but does Lezian know that? No! Does he have any way of knowing about those "love languages" anyway, being a Fused from Roshar in a fantasy novel? No! But he's going to try to use them anyway. In his ongoing mission to flirt with Kaladin.

1. Physical Touch

Lezian: [Breaks off his own elbow spur and stabs Kaladin so deeply that his hand is resting against Kaladin's chest] Lezian: I can feel your heart beating. Lezian: ... Lezian: More and more slowly due to the stabbing, to be honest. Kaladin: [spitting up blood]

How Characters from Other Cosmere Novels Would Provide Aid and Comfort to the Traitor Moash

@taravangians-storming-balls posted a moadolin comic on reddit and received a truly bizarre hate comment, as detailed on their post about the incident. The reddit comment notably accused the comic of "providing aid and comfort to the traitor Moash," a phrasing that has since delighted denizens of tumblr. Anyway, that's the background. Now here is how characters from other Cosmere novels would go about providing aid and comfort to the traitor Moash.

1. Kelsier

Kelsier: [Watching Moash kill people, clapping and cheering] Kelsier: Woo-hoo! Nice job, son! Kelsier: I have orange slices and a juice box for you whenever you get tired! Kelsier: [shaking his head with a fond smile] Kelsier: Ah, kids.

2. Tress

Tress: Wow...it sounds like you've read a really rough time. Tress: Of course you can still stay on the ship! Tress: I mean, Laggart was cruel and mean and killed people, and we still let him stay on! It's fine! Laggart: ...I wish you wouldn't use me as an example every time we welcome aboard a new crewmember. Tress: Oh, sorry! Moash: ...What kind of place IS this?

3. Zane

Zane: Crazy? You're definitely not crazy. Zane: Killing people because a god tells you to is pretty normal, actually. Zane: And your dyed black uniform IS cool. Moash: ...Why do I feel worse every time you agree with me? Zane: I have that effect on people.

4. Dusk

Moash: All I really wanted was a good king. Moash: My whole plan was to kill the corrupt ruler and replace him with Dalinar, who I thought at the time was a good man. Moash: Then I figured humans suck so the ones who should be in charge are the Singers. Moash: But you! Everyone says you're an actual good king AND you're not human! Moash: Please let me work for you! Raoden: [Is silver] Um...I am human, though? Moash: Ew, really? Moash: Well, I'll get past it. Raoden: ... Roaden: Welcome on board, I suppose?

9. Vin

Vin: So you...killed the ruler of your city due to his crimes against your people and also more specifically the fact that he killed someone you loved? Vin: Hype. [holds up her hand for a high-five] Moash: [eying her warily] I also killed a lot of other people. Vin: Ah yes. Vin: Been there. Vin: So what do you think? Join our crew? Moash: ... Moash: Why does everyone on this planet want to recruit me?

10. Tindwyl

Tindwyl: Posture? Uninspiring. Tindwyl: Self-confidence and charisma? Nonexistant. Tindwyl: Old uniform dyed black? Pathetic. Tindwyl: If I am to help you realize your true potential, you will need to do everything that I say. Moash: Who the hell are you?! How is this "aid and comfort"?! Tindwyl: I offer twice the aid. Mistborn Characters Suggest the Best Cosmere Starting Place

Let's say Mistborn characters somehow had access to the whole Cosmere series and had opinions about what book was the best starting point. What starting book would they recommend?

1. Marsh

Marsh: If you want to enjoy the Cosmere, you need to earn it. Marsh: Start from the beginning, read in publication order. Marsh: So, start with Elantris. Marsh: It's only right.

2. Kelsier

Kelsier: Listen--just start anywhere. Have fun! Kelsier: Grab Words of Radiance, and just dive in! Kelsier: Will you know what's going on? No. Kelsier: Will you have a great time? Yes! Marsh: ... Marsh: Isn't that the book where Thaidakar first starts to get talked about more? Kelser: [smiles]

3. Steris

Steris: Reading in publication order is lazy thinking. Steris: It makes sense to start with Mistborn Era 1. Steris: It gives a proper sense of what's to come, while still being of a reasonable length for curious new readers. Wax: Didn't you start with Way of Kings? Steris: This is advice for normal people.

4. Sazed

Sazed: Now...this may be a consequence of my history of collecting fragments of religions and storing them so that they would not be lost, but... Sazed: Arcanum Unbounded has a little bit of everything. Sazed: It's a good place to begin for someone who wants that and who does not mind the haunting yearning of not knowing the full story. Sazed: ... Sazed: Although in this case you can just go and buy the other novels.

5. Wax

Wax: Understanding the truth of the past is vital for understanding the present. Wax: So that's why I'd recommend starting with Mistborn Era 1. Wax: ... Wax: Honestly, I think some things would have made more sense if I had been allowed to read it.

6. Marasi

Marasi: I grew up on stories about Wax and Wayne. They changed me forever! Marasi: So I think you should start with Mistborn Era 2! Marasi: ... Marasi: Am I allowed to say that?

7. Vin

Vin: It is okay to be cautious of committing, at first. Vin: You never know when a book might betray you. Vin: That's why I recommend starting with The Sunlit Man. Vin: It's short. It's exciting. It hurts less if you read it first. Vin: ... Vin: Much sadder in retrospect, though.

8. Elend

Elend: When it comes to reading, I never shy away from a challenge! Elend: I think people should start with Stormlight. Just commit. Wholeheartedly. To the longest and most complicated of the series! Elend: Never be afraid to read things you might not yet understand!

9. MeLaan

MeLaan: I think people should start with Tress of the Emerald Sea. MeLaan: It's cute. And there's a kandra!

10. TenSoon

TenSoon: I feel obligtated to select Tress of the Emerald Sea. TenSoon: As it is the only book, aside from mine, in which a talking animal companion is a main character. TenSoon: ... TenSoon: Slightly more whimsical in tone.

11. Wayne

Wayne: Ever since I read it, I've been partial to The Emperor's Soul. Wayne: And not just 'cause it's so short! Wayne: It's also kinda nice to think about how you could rebuild a person. Wayne: Maybe make 'em just a little better than they used to be. Wayne: ... Wayne: But, uh, mainly it's because it's so short!

12. Dockson

Dockson: I think you are fine to start with Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. Dockson: Start with a book where nobody dies and the young love works out. Dockson: Makes all the rest of the books that much more painful. Dockson: Much like life.

13. Breeze

Breeze: Start with Warbreaker. Breeze: Short. Standalone. The only book where any character has any fun.

14. Allrianne
