I plotted each iteration in a 750x750x750 histogram, normalized it 0-1, converted it to an OpenVDB volume, and rendered it in Blender. I colored it as a temperature map indicating the the most visited regions.

Although this looks like a smooth and swirling motion, the iterated function is discrete and consecutive points jump across the space. It's only after a significant number of iterations that we see the attractor the system converges to.
