Review from one of our awesome customers @sooloo93 ・・・ #sheetmaskfriday, tonight I'm trying the Beauty Love Almighty Three-Way Snail Repair Whitening Mask. Phew what a name!! This mask will leave skin hydrated, smooth and bright. 🔘 Ingredients include snail extract, birds nest peptide, chamomile and hyaluronic acid - I think this might be my first mask with birds nest peptide 🐦!! 🔘 Its a thin mask that has a pleasant perfumed scent, kind of like shampoo. This was so juicy and there's a ton of essence left in the pack. The fit was great and it adheres well, I ended up wearing this for close to an hour and it was still moist! 🔘 Skin was left brighter and hydrated. I really liked this mask and a quick Google shows its easily available in the UK at @cosmicbeautyuk. 🔘 #masks #sheetmask #sheetmasks #sheetmaskaddict #koreanskincare #beautylove #asianskincare #skincare #rasianbeauty #kbeauty #kbeautyaddict #abcommunity #taiwanbeauty #tbeauty #smotd #abblogger #beauty #sheetingaway #taiwansheetmask #skincarejunkie #skincareaddict #instablogger
5 Reasons Why Luffa Oil Is Good For Your Skin
What is luffa?
Lets cut to the chase, what exactly is a luffa?
The Luffa, or Loofah, is an edible fruit which comes from the cucumber family. Luffa sponges have been used for centuries across Africa and Asia for its exfoliating properties and as a herbal remedy. As soon as it is emptied and dried out the Luffa becomes a natural exfoliating sponge. Luffa seeds also produce an oil. Luffa seeds have an extremely high oil content with over half of it being oil. When pressed the seeds produce the oil.
So why is Luffa Seed Oil good for our skin? Here are 5 reasons:
1… It is highly moisturising. Being an oil, it is an excellent lubricant for the skin. Luffa oil is a restorative and moisturising oil which easily melts into the skin without leaving you feeling greasy preventing the excessive loss of moisture through the epidermis. It is one of the more stable odourless oils.
2… It helps to repair and nourish the skin. The oil contains essential fatty acids so when used in skin care products it helps to repair and deeply nourish the skin. Luffa oil is also a very effective substance to be used in a cleanser because of it’s highly moisturising properties.
3… It has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. Luffa oil can help to soothe dry itchy sensitive skin because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It is often used in cosmetics as emollients and texture enhancers and in mineral make-up to give a the skin a softer and smoother appearance. The oil is also used in sunscreens, anti-ageing products, moisturisers, body oils and cleansers. It has a high toxicity to cancer cells which it is often used in sunscreen products. As it is a natural substance it is much kinder to the skin.
4… For oil control. As this oil moisturises the skin at a deeper level, it helps to balance out the moisture levels which helps to even out the skin’s texture leaving the skin feeling smooth and soft. This will also help to plump up fine lines and wrinkles
5… Its antioxidant properties. When applied topically luffa seed oil can provide antioxidant properties due to its high flavonoids content which have an antioxidant effect on the body’s cells. Antioxidants helps the skin to neutralise free radicals which exist in our every day environment and contribute to the overall ageing of the skin.
As mentioned, many cosmetics and skin care products contain luffa seed oil just as Face Q’s Luffa Oil Control Mask does. Not only does this sheet mask moisturise the skin but also has a brightening effect, helps to control sebum levels in the skin and the barley extract helps to calm and diminish acne.

Nightmare-ish skin!
My skin has been a nightmare in the last six months. Since end of January/beginning of February I have broken out in acne. Mostly covering my forehead and some around my cheeks. I haven’t had acne since my teenage years, which was a long, long time ago. I really couldn’t work out why – I hadn’t really made any dramatic changes to my diet, lifestyle or any skin care products. So I was stumped.
I tend to touch my spots a lot. And that caused them to spread. As they were spreading it caused me to stress which in turn caused more spots. It was a vicious cycle! But I just couldn’t work out what was the cause of it in the first place.
Then I came across an article about dairy being a possible cause of acne. And thinking back, I did have a craving for cheese over the Christmas period and into the first part of January. I think that must be it! I also do very regularly have an uncomfortable stomach during the week where I drink a lot of coffee at work. So, chances are I may be lactose intolerant/allergic to dairy and hadn’t even realised. So, for the last week I have cut out dairy as much as I can. The only dose I may have occasionally is the odd cup of coffee – maximum one, but can go days without having any and opt for green tea instead. I’ve noticed a significant difference. My stomach feels a lot more comfortable, less bloated, and the spots have stopped flaring up. Only problem now is that I am left with a forehead full of scars!
I don’t usually wear make-up as I am quite lazy and rather have good-looking skin, but have had to cover up with foundation just to look presentable. Believe it or not, that picture below is of my forehead. I hardly ever used to get spots, just the occasional one here or there, but never like this!
Since I am left with these scars I need to find a way of lightning them. The colouring of scars is just melanin, and is present in everyone’s skin. Melanin rushes to the surface of the wound of the skin to help heal it. Hence the brownish colouring. And as my scars are just surface scars i.e. they don’t dip into the skin, hopefully they will lighten over time and of course with a little added help.
Arbutin is a popular skin lightning and brightening ingredient that is widely used in many skin care products across South East Asia as it helps to minimise the formation of melanin in the skin. So, I am going to start using My Scheming’s Arbutin Whitening Mask which, as you can tell from the name, has Arbutin as it’s main ingredient. I’m also going to start using Sanctuary’s 1 minute Microdermabrasion Polish to help buff away dead skin and Missha’s Time Revolution Treatment Essence which speeds up the natural skin renewal process.
I’ll use the scrub about 3 times a week and not on consecutive days. Every morning and evening I will pat the watery treatment essence into freshly washed skin then at least once a week I will use the My Scheming mask.
So watch this space and follow my progress. Hopefully over time I’ll see a difference in the scars on my skin and have healthier looking skin overall!
Here’s to good-looking skin
