"like a coming-out situation"? oh, okay. i see, you think this has nothing to do with you. you go to your closet and you select, i don't know, that purple flannel, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you're a manly guy and you take yourself too seriously to care about what people read into it. but what you don't know is that that flannel is not just purple, and pink and blue, it's actually the bisexual colors and someone carefully selected that for dean to wear on his date with cas. you're also blithely unaware of the fact that spn being a collaborative project means you don't get the final say on everything your character becomes and that shirt is only the tip of the iceberg that represents millions of decisions and countless references that queercode dean a thousand times over. and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from this queercoding when, in fact, you're wearing a shirt that was selected for you by the people bringing your character to life. and you couldn't keep your eyes off your co-star, nor could you leave that coat in the lake or resist gently folding it

I really really really autistically love vintage fashion, I just knew I had to do a little something inspired by some of the Sears catalogue spreads from a few fashion books I own (I’m aware that at the time these would have been in colour but the scans in the books are in black and white and I think the monochrome looks cooler anyway) — Castiel is first up but I’ll be doing one for Dean and Sam as well!
