i owe yall an apology

hey im sure some of u saw an anon ask on a wof confessions blog talking about how someone didn’t really like sharpwings bc they were like “robots” and they wanted them to be more of animal companion characters than main focuses of the story. im sure some of you were also very mad at that post too.

i’m here to take full responsibility and apologize. this ask was sent in a while ago, and i had not fully grasped or acknowledged the nuances behind sharpwings and i thought they were just a new gimmick to fit modern tech into wof. i understand now that i was immature and my wording came off as extremely incorrect and even offensive in ways.

at fiirst, it definitely hurt to realize i was in the wrong. i sent in an ask after that was somewhat fueled by my ego in that moment, and now i know in a month or two that will probably come out and make more people mad, and i’m really sorry in advance for that too, as that was also in poor form. i guess i really just want to come out and say that i had no intention to be cruel or bigoted with my opinion on sharpwings. i was confused and i worded it badly. but now i know i wasn’t right.

i thank those of you who helped me realize my mistakes and learn the nuances of the tribe. i have truly changed my opinion on them now. and to all of you who i hurt with my ask, i am truly sorry. i don’t know what i should do to make it up to everyone, if i should leave/avoid the wof community for my actions i will do so. i just really don’t want to cause any more harm to this fandom that i love.

i admit, i am asking for forgiveness, but i understand if you do not want to give it. i just want to clear up my own mind on this and know that in the end i am able to learn from my mistakes and become a better person.

lowk my genderfluidity is so funny bc i just went a month and a half questioning if i was really just a fraud cis girl and then my gender answered me and hit me with a cosmic fuck ton of dysphoria and now im begging the 'rents for a haircut.

and just when i got a really cute necklace for my signature fem look too, my gender really is determined by comedic timing. fitting for a cosmic menace.

it's also funny because instead of feeling heavy catastrophic dissonance and self-hatred and all the poetic things my fellow trans folks have described on the internet my gender dysphoria is more just really annoying. frustrating even. Like knowing you have a stain on your shirt but you can't fix it because you're out of the house but boyyyy do you want to go home and change.

Julian saw him as a threat to his position in the Wublin Company the first time he was asked to fill in (which only happened bc Allie heard him singing earlier), but Vito assured him he wouldn’t let anyone replace him (and then they kissed ooooh)

Half the university has a crush on him bc he’s “nonchalant” (he lowkey just doesn’t know what to say most of the time)

Simple food and small portions only being on the kids menu. I know this isn't the most important issue but it has hindered me from eating at multiple resturaunts since I don't have an appetite due to ARFID.

as someone with ARFID i really couldn't care less about the distinction between "picky eaters" and "genuine eating issues." if you are an asshole to someone you see as "just picky" i will never, ever trust you. i've lived through the trauma of being shamed and humiliated for my eating needs.

frankly i think a LOT of "picky eaters" have some kind of sensory problems– autistic or allistic– and shame is never useful. i don't fucking care how annoying you think we are. if you've never lived through the humiliation of being the only one not eating at a dinner table, or having to choke down something disgusting you already know you hate because other people insist you don't know your own body, or getting a hunger migraine in a house full of food because none of its edible to you? you don't understand how awful it is to have food issues.

whenever i see people draw this distinction between being "just a picky eater" and "having a real problem" all i think is, who does this serve? most people don't even know ARFID exists. there are so many undiagnosed autistics, or just people with a variety of issues that aren't officially diagnosed. why do we need a medical label in order to be treated with respect and compassion? why did i need to be diagnosed as autistic for my family to realize the abuse they put me through for years because of my eating habits?

it's such an easy habit for neglected groups to fall into– the idea that a medical diagnosis can save us. that by appealing to the medical/psychiatric industry, we can be protected from abuse and given basic respect and resources. but the truth is that it should never have come to this in the first place. dignity doesn't come from an abled doctor telling you that there's a medical reason for your symptoms. it comes from being a person. once you accept that you need a Good Reason to have your needs respected, you doom yourself to neglecting and abusing those who have your same struggles because they aren't lucky enough to access medical recognition.

tl;dr solidarity with all "picky eaters" stop guilting people for having varying food needs, if we make you irrationally angry that's YOUR problem not ours, and abolish "children's menus" & replace them with simple-food menus for people of all ages

im not a big fan of werdos or cg5's recent work personally but tbh i was lowkey surprised like this is one of his better recent features like it doesnt feel super jarring in my opinion
