Just a little 2am writing
Happy endings are just stories unfinished, with endings in which are untold
The parts that we hear, and the parts that we see, miss the behind the scenes
Where even the closest lovers seem to fall apart, but they can’t in the open because then Cinderella would be a big mess, and Prince Charming would be depressed
Because his lady found another lover
What will unfold where we can’t see
What lies are being told to kids who want to be
Cinderella but she was just being chased around
For a happy ending that may have never been found
But from what we’ve been told, and the stories we’ve read, every version ends with happy,
What version ends with dead?
Because in the end that’s where we will all be, and a happy ending doesn’t solve the pain
Doesn’t solve the sorrow, the cold lonely nights while your lover is “at work” and then JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT you were getting your happy ending, he’s with another girl trying to fulfill hers
But what happened to you? You ask yourself, it’s just the behind the scenes that no one ever sees. No ones ever told that happy endings are just stories unfinished, with endings in which are untold
Someone put down their pen, or their pencil, or stopped typing and maybe they forgot what they were writing
Or maybe they went to chase their happy ending,
Or maybe they died while trying to show what love is, what they, never had.
And now their story that couldn’t be finished, that couldn’t even be real
Is being showed off, as to how to feel, but lastly
Their pens runs dry, out of ink,
Because happy endings can’t be finished,
The endings can’t be told, because then there would be nothing to live for
