I’m tired of getting these stupid offers to work on people’s “passion projects” for free, usually with the promise of compensation when/if the project takes off. Guess what? I don’t care that you’re passionate about it, I care if you’re competent. When you knock on my door asking for free work, its a clear sign that you aren’t. You might have hopes that your project hits it big and that you’ll eventually get rich off of it, but if you REALLY believed in it, I feel like you’d be more willing to put your own livelihood on the line instead of asking an artist to do it for you. If I do a bunch of free work hoping it’ll pay off, I’m not doing other work that could actually feed me and pay my bills. And what happens when the project doesn’t get funded or some important factor blows up or everyone decides to quit out early? I get screwed. So, no. I don’t want to work on your passion project. Not unless I get paid up front.

WONDERFUL ADVICE for artists. Please don’t undervalue your art, your time and efforts are valuable and deserve fair compensation.

Writers! Don’t treat cover artists, concept artists, illustrators, comic artists, or the folks who offer to draw your ocs like this! If you can afford it, pay. If you can’t, NO ART for you.

And if they say they are willing to do it for free because they’re your friend or they’re still practicing, offer to pay anyway. That’s the sincere and professional thing to do. If they insist, try to leave them a tip anyway. It’s the kindest gesture and they’ll remember you forever.

Hey guys some bad news..... sooooooo I am considering canceling this project there hasn’t been a ton of interest and I’m afraid the deadline for apps will happen and I’ll only have like ten artist to work with still no writer apps submitted. I really wanted this to be a thing but with how things are going ,

1 I would not be able to provide the amount of content I was hoping for everyone

And 2 the cost to print them will to high I was gonna do preorders and everything but with how everything has been progressing I think this might be the end of the rode please message this blog directly if you can help me figure something out I wanna do this but the vision I had is not coming forward.
