I should have made this post three weeks ago, but better late than never right? 😅

In April, eighteen of us came together to create Mosaic, a slumber island with twenty different themes! (More, actually, if you include the beaches and the house.) It’s a damn shame that slumber islands can’t have dream addresses because everyone brought their A-game and did the most creative builds with such limited custom design space (4 slots per theme plus some multipurpose pathing).

That’s why I’m so overjoyed that YouTuber Lex Play toured Mosaic, preserving the island in video form and enabling anyone to appreciate the participants’ brilliant work! Check it out on YouTube, the last video in the Tours playlist. Thank you so much for touring, Lex! 🥹🫶🏼✨

I’m working on my new slumber island, caramello, a kid’s dream 💭 of a city with no grown ups! Step into a world of colour and fun. I can’t wait to complete my first bingo but also I’m just taking it slow with the process of creating this island. 💕🫰🏼

Experimenting with window custom designs—top is Tasha’s vacation home and bottom is hotel room number one. Which room would you rather stay in?

I decided to upload a dream of my forever island Aralín, because it’s in a relatively good state right now and the weather looked just right. The theme is citycore inspired by Metro Manila, Philippines, but I took many creative liberties and made it functional. It’s not perfect or “finished,” and there are flowers growing rampant in many places plus a few incongruous items, but I designed all the codes and it feels like home. Some villager houses are done, Lucs’ house is mostly done, Aurora’s house has a room or so, Dante’s tent and its surroundings are only in the idea stage. Dress for summer if you decide to visit, and I hope you have fun. <3

The river valley opens up before the bridge like a gash flowing with the island’s lifeblood. Rising in the horizon are more windmills, which Saoirse now understands used to power the island. By now, the mechanisms they powered have eroded to dust or been overtaken by roots and vines. The windmills are obsolete—the guardians and very few mechanical artifacts that survived are now animated by the island’s living matter. Still, Saoirse wonders if they can be put to use somehow.

Encircled by stones and bushes, another shrine lies to the east. It is unknown what the shrine was originally for, but Saoirse often comes and talks to it like an old friend. The island always answers, even if it’s slow, and she knows she doesn’t have to speak to a statue, but the presence of a face makes it seem more familiar, more human.

Saoirse has roamed every inch of the island, leaving books here and there, open-faced and half-read. The island, like an indulgent parent, allows the texts to litter its land, but now and then vines gather the books into neat stacks, clearing space for new growths to spring up.

The second slide is a preview of a new area I’m working on—10% done, then 50% done. I know I’m aaaall over the place with my filters but I’m just trying to find the best one to use. Maybe I won’t always use the same one, because who says I have to? 😝 Happy Monday—I hope work goes smoothly for those who work. <3

I had the most relaxing and wonderful time visiting @dreaming.of.utopia (on Instagram)’s slumber island, Onsen. The winter setting and cozy vibes remind me of an onsen that I went to in Hokkaido in the winter. It was bitterly cold but the onsen was warm and refreshing. Likewise, my heart was warmed by the time spent with friends 🤍✨

Building my slumber island, Kasama, with Chey (cosy.chey on instagram) 🩵✨

This island is one I will create 100% in cooperation with others. Hence the name Kasama (roughly “together” in Tagalog). Who wants to build with me? 🤭

The abandoned tailor shop is a place of comfort for Saoirse, populated with strangely intact mannequins bearing clothing that was left behind and clothing that Saoirse has made herself.

Having pilfered a sewing machine and brought it to her own house, Saoirse figured out how to use it through a book from the library.

Some days, there are stacks of folded cloth on the low, vine-covered stool of stone. More offerings from the island, sufficient to satisfy all of Saoirse’s needs. But where does the island get it from? How could such delicate fabrics have survived while buildings didn’t?
