Do you know how weird it feels to casually make future plushie plans and feel like I’m thriving with my art career while ICE is threatening to go door to door for “immigrants” and “criminals” (visibly brown people) and I have to carry proof I’m American with me every time I go out? I say this specifically here because I know it’s a majority white American website. Like I already thought of who I would call and go stay with if I were to be deported lol. I’ve soothed myself with “maybe it wouldn’t be so bad as long as I don’t get shot at or disappear”. And it’s just annoying because my white peers do not have shit like this weighing on their mind, they can choose to just fucking draw

I cannot emphasize how much I’m literally a US citizen who speaks good english (with an accent, but it’s something) and these are the thoughts I’m having. Imagine how it feels when you’re actually an immigrant and you can barely parse what the masked trigger-happy asshole with a gun is screaming at you.

small luxuries that make life feel pretty ♡

luxury doesn’t always mean expensive sometimes it’s just adding a little extra care to the ordinary things that make you pause and go “oh wait… this feels nice”

here are the small things that make every day feel a little more like you:

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ lighting a candle while you get ready especially in the morning it makes everything feel slower and softer

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ putting your skincare in the fridge cold serums and face rollers just hit different

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ making your drinks look pretty iced coffee in a glass cup with a straw matcha with frothed milk bonus points if you drink it by the window

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ putting on perfume before bed for no reason just because you want to smell like vanilla and peace

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ using body lotion with a scent that makes you feel expensive take your time with it it’s not just skincare, it’s a ritual

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ wearing matching pajamas or just an oversized shirt that feels clean and cozy makes a difference

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ eating your food on a real plate yes even snacks even if you’re in bed especially if you’re in bed

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ reading something at night instead of scrolling a few pages just something that brings you back to yourself

𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ creating a slow morning playlist even if it’s just 4 songs play it while you brush your hair or fold clothes

you don’t have to spend a lot to feel soft, pretty, grounded you just need to add intention to the little things this is your softness era
