TIFs accusing the people who write cuntboy as being "chasers"... bro I do not think the women so heterosexual they are writing yaoi yet can't handle anal and refuse to ever switch anything up between the characters are the ones craving you carnally.

Fandoms stopped being a fun escape from reality when people started spreading the belief that you should prioritize purity over pleasure and the art you create must be a reflection of your moral standards at all times.
I think a fandom becomes more interesting when people are allowed to explore uncomfortable ideas instead of pretending they don't exist
"i love that we all agree on this fanon!" and then the fanon is a shitty take that just shows their internal biases towards specific characters and does nothing positive for the character they actually like
I love how I've never liked a single Zutara post yet I keep getting recommended it and other "Zuko is sooooo mature!" posts just because I like ZukAang AND KatAang posts.

not all ships are For wanting them to be in a happy healthy relationship together. sometimes shipping two characters means you want them to be erotically obsessed with each other and become entwined in a mutually toxic love affair for a few months and then horrifically break each other's hearts and never speak again. sometimes you want them to be codependent best friends with enough repression to explode a submarine who only make out/have sex when they're at their worst. sometimes you want them to pine after each other for years, never say anything, and then die. sometimes you want them to kill each other. this, too, is shipping
More guard dog/attack dog dynamicsss......
Character A who has B wrapped around their finger and thinks they're completely in control of their precious loyal partner x Character B who is way more powerful and aware than A thinks and A only controls B because B lets them but B definitely gets off on that fact
I'm so sick of the whole "a hero would sacrifice you to save the world but a villain would sacrifice the world to save you" line. We need more relationships that are "if you sacrifice the world just to save me I will never forgive you. Do not save me if the rest of the world is the cost." We need more of whatever Hawkeye and Colonel Mustang had.
i was doomscrolling ship dynamics on Pinterest and suddenly thought of one i've loved for ages but I don't know if it has a name
PLEASE tell me you guys see the vision
let's stay out of the fandom tags with papa
Look what my friend with no social media posted to the chat with the damning staggered timestamps of 1:11, 1:37, and 1:42 A.M.
it's always funny to me when ppl act like it's somehow incestuous for characters who consider each other found family/chosen family/whatever u wanna call the trope to date each other, and it's funny for many reasons, but most specifically it's funny because irl when you meet a person and get really attached and decide that you want to be family with them, there's a very popular legally recognized way of doing that & it's called marriage
Still thinking about YukiKyo, man.
another thing i appreciate about project hail mary the book is that the happy ending in still under construction. and complicated. I loved the film, but the book doesn't give us a magic perfect human habitat and i LIKE that.
Grace only recently got food that tastes okay. the dome is as comfortable as the eridians could make it, but its not a hyper-realistic recreation of earth. the gravity of Erid hurts grace. there's still a literal wall between him and the people (person) he cares about.
when the question of whether grace wants to go back to earth comes up, its not as simple as 'do you want to stay here with your best friend rocky?' its also "how long can your body handle this?" and "how long will you endure it?" and "do you ever want to have arms around you again?"
