               Mike did not expect the sudden mention of eating with him. If only she had called a few minutes prior. However, the agent can still make this work. Having not left his table just yet. He can let the waitress know that a change of plans has been made and he’s planning on meeting a friend. Fortunately the Drop isn’t crazy busy either so there are not people waiting around for an empty table. ❝Yeah, I know what you’re talking about. I’m at the Drop right now. You know where that is?❞ He can’t very well bring her with him to Graceland.

“No.” Because T.J. was stubborn and god damn tired of doing everything Mike wanted all the damned time. Besides, it was Mike’s choice to come to The Dome and here he was. Now he had to deal with it. “You’re a fucking coward.” T.J. is pissed, probably more pissed than Mike has ever seen him before. “What are you hoping to get from all of this? You know what your future looks like, Mike? You’re going to be alone and sad because this? Your career? This is fucking it for you.”

               If this is TJ’s attempt to get on Mike’s every last nerves then it’s working. ❝What do you want me to do, TJ? Quit my work with the FBI? Leave Graceland for good? Would that make you happy?❞ If it was anyone else standing between him and the door he would have likely punched them in the face right then and there. But he can’t do that to TJ. Even now when he’s successfully managing to push all of his buttons.

“You need to stop.” Mike saying those three words meant nothing. Not anymore. Mike had so many chances to prove it and he never did. In T.J.’s head, everything they had shared, special as it was, was nothing more than fun. It was never as serious for Mike as it was for T.J. The conversation they’d had about the future made that clear. T.J. saw a future with Mike, Mike’s future didn’t involve T.J.

But this wasn’t about that. This wasn’t about them. This was about the fact that after all the bullshit, Mike came to The Dome. He could shout that it was about work a million times but it would not change anything because - “You could have said there was a conflict of interested and backed down.”

               He could have. But he didn’t. Maybe because there was a small part of Mike that wanted to see TJ again. Call him selfish. Except he didn’t want to see him when he had someone else holding his hand. He’d rather have the chance to talk to him in private. Try to explain. Well, now he has what he thought he originally wanted. Not anymore.

              ❝I’m sorry, okay? Clearly you don’t want me here, so if you can just step out of the way I’ll be on my way and won’t come back.❞ That is what TJ wanted, right?
