Surrounded by Two.
Anger welled up in Ryan with every word she spoke. He was tense, coiled like a spring, but as solid as a wall. “I didn’t say shit about my mother. She said my mama’s corpse would look great as a hood ornament,” he spat out, all vitriol and Georgian drawl.
He turned his head sideways, keeping an eye on Regina in his peripherals as he looked at Gavin. It really meant something that the Brit had fallen under her spell. A flash of hurt crossed his gaze before he turned back to the woman in front of them.
“I’m a simple man, sweetheart. With simple rules.” The pet name dripped off his tongue too sugary-sweet to be genuine. “Cursing my loved ones? You better fucking believe I won’t take that without a fight.”
It happened quickly. With a crack of his neck and his knuckles, he charged for her like a bull.
Gavin wasn’t sure what to do, shifting and holding onto Ryan. The hurt look he gave him had Gavin frowning. He couldn’t have know he’d done something wrong. Nor did he know what Regina was either. It was all a mystery to him and when Ryan went to move, Gavin let go, moving swiftly to try and get in the way.
As much as he hated to get in the middle of a fight, Gavin had to. He didn’t want either of them getting hurt so if getting hurt himself meant they’d stop this nonsense, then he was fine with it.
“We really don’t need to do this, do we?” Gavin asked, wincing and seeing if they might just stop if he stood there between them.
She stood her ground, ready for him. However, Gavin stood in the way of the larger male's charge... Taking the hit. Her expression changed to concern as worry filled her mind. Dropping the mischievous act entirely, Regina rushed over to her boyfriend. Looking him over just to make sure he wasn't too damaged from the attack. He'll get a bruise at the most by he look of it, but still. He shouldn't of- she was going to be evasive, defensive to his attacks. " You're right, as always. " She says to Gavin, smiling. " Ryan, " She turns her attention to the older man. " I've said some awful things and I'm sorry. For Gavin's sake, I believe a truce is in order. Temporary, permanent - details will be sorted out later. " She offers Rye a hand, handshakes usually seal-the-deal.
