Ideas On How To Prepare For the Certified Professional Photographer Exam
Studying for the Certified Professional Photographer Exam or CPP Exam is part of the process to become a certified photographer. It is part of a three stage process to become a certified photographer. Step one is to state your candidacy for the accreditation, the second stage is to successfully pass the CPP exam, and the the third step is to pass the picture submission evaluation. The CPP exam is a hundred multiple-choice test that must be finished in a 2 hr period. The process to become a certified photographer is worthwhile and may be beneficial to your photography profession!
Here are 4 tips to help you get ready for the CPP exam:
#1 Come Up With A Plan
Commit to a conscious choice to study and pass the CPP exam. Take a moment with a calendar, your CPP exam date, pencil and paper. Have a look at just how much time you will need to study for the CPP exam and jot down when you will study for the test. Are you going to study every Tuesday and Thursday 8-10am or Saturdays 9-11am? Schedule your studying so you have the best possible possibility of passing the CPP test.
#2 - Read the Book
The recommended book is titled Photography by J. Upton, J. Stone B. London. The book is 400 pages so it is a daunting task. The book is full of very good material and it will be a excellent reference for future photography questions. The test focuses on every chapter in the book except for the history chapter. Additionally, the cpp exam still includes some questions regarding film so read the film sections so you will be able to answer those questions correctly.
#3 - Make Use Of A Study Guide
Because the book is 400 pages long, I would certainly suggest finding some extra materials that will help you prepare for the exam. Search for CPP study guides or flash cards. Be sure that the CPP study guide is complete and contains a practice examination. Part of the examination isn't only knowing the material but also understanding the style of the questions so you can move through the exam more effectively. It would be a waste to invest five minutes at the start of the test trying to figure out the style of the questions and the way to answer them when you know the answer. There is a variety of photography training videos, lessons and training courses either locally or online that would be able to enable you to study for the test.
#4 - Sign up for A Study Group
A CPP Study Group will keep you accountable and on-task to get ready for the CPP test. The test covers a great deal of material and if you are not determined to pass the exam then you might be inclined to "study for it later". A good study group will be organized and have individuals understand and then present various photography subjects at every meeting. It's also an excellent way to meet up with other photographers and share their photography experiences. Photography is a great deal about learning and discussing with other photographers in the community. This could be a great way to prepare for the CPP examination and connect with some new contacts.
Photographers preparing for the CPP examination think it is a satisfying and challenging process. The best way to become successful is to make a strategy, read the recommended book, start using a study guide and become a member of a study group.
