Fun fact: if you, as an adult, tell miserable children that their youth is the best that life will ever be, and that it's all just downhill from there, there's a percentage of them who will hear this and think "well, I guess I better kill myself before that happens." And a certain percentage of those will proceed to do that and succeed.
Anyway what I'm saying is that any time you feel tempted to say that, you should instead consider shutting the fuck up. Just because you peaked at 16 doesn't mean anyone else did. Most peoples' lives get better than that.
Hi everyone! I thought I would, in real fanfic writer fashion, update you all about what's been going on in my life lately.
Truth is, I have not been well. I'm in and out of the hospital for tests and stuff and it's exhausting.
Back in 2014 (when I was 13 years old) I missed nearly a year of school because I felt so sick. I went to school for no more than 2 hours a day and most days that was enough to wipe me out completely. That slowly got better, or rather, I learned to live with it.
Back then the doctors did some tests, sure, but the first thing they could blame it on, they did. After this, for YEARS, whenever I would go back to my GP they said it was just anxiety, all in my head. After I started using anti-depressants when I was 18, it was just the meds that made me feel that way. When I stopped with those meds last year, they just called it anxiety, again.
Meanwhile I haven't been functioning well for over 10 years of my life.
So I decided to do my own research on my symptoms, if I'm completly honest I was just tired of not being taken seriously and I'm so tired of not wanting to live. (maybe TMI lol i might delete this later) I was diagnosed with severe depression when I was 13, and it's honestly not gotten much better since.
So now I've been in and out of the hospital. I got an autism diagnoses earlier this year, ADHD in 2021. And just in the past 3 months we found out (with the help of a cardiologist that DOES take me seriously) that I have a hypermobile heart, a hole in my heart, tachycardia (I'm getting tested for POTS next year), fibromyalgia and a severe vitamin D and iron deficiency. I'm going to get tested for a lot more but as you can imagine I'm TIRED.
Long story short, I WANT to write, I have ideas, I'm still excited about crowned heads, but I just can't right now.
So I think we can call this blog semi-retired.
I will post when I post, when I want and can write, but it won't be frequent (it hasn't been for a long time)
anyway I just needed to get all of this off my chest. I'm sick and tired of being sick. I'm grieving a life I could have had if I wasn't chronically ill. I'm going through a complete breakdown because I've apparently been disabled all my life. I'm fucking angry because I had to do all the research my stupid fucking doctors should have done. I've been to more psychologists than I can count and none of them thought to get my tested for ANYTHING, none of them ever actually helped my deep deep depression. I'll be on meds for the rest of life. I'm 24 years old and I feel like my life is over, like I'm still stuck at 13, I'm deadass no further than I was then. I'm always in pain but they don't want to give me any real pain meds because "they can be addictive and then you will never be able to live without them" meanwhile I live with pain. I can't sleep, I can't wake up. I have medicine FOR MY HEART. I'M 24 YEARS OLD
My friends are all moving on, growing up, buying houses, getting pregnant (not that i want to be pregnant) they are able to be actual adults, to actually live. I haven't lived for real since I was 13. I don't know what kind of life I'll ever be able to have because it took some stupid ass doctors 11 years to finally decide to help me.
All I did today was cook dinner and my whole body hurts. And I can't really talk to anyone about it bc no one can really understand.
So TLDR: I don't know if I'll ever post on here again, when I do, I do, when I don't I don't.
If anyone is interested in 'adopting' a story I was writing, but haven't finished, please DM me. It will be free of charge, just talk to me first.
I'm tired.
This is very depressing, I'm sorry. Another reason why I
can't really share it with anyone in my life. (although my best friend might read this, hello wife)
On a positive note: I'm not currently suic!dal! A win is a win! the medications are medicationing! Thank you SSRI's!!
Also I had a psychosis in december! fun times as you can imagine /s. Silver lining: the anti psychosis meds double as sleeping meds. So I'm actually sleeping for the first time in my life
ANYWAY I am rewriting Stranger Things season 5 because it was ass and I might post it here if anyone is interested.
I feel so insane about ai. I've had face-to-face conversations with people who use it for therapy, who use it to calculate the safety of pill interactions, who use it for all their emails and grant applications and legal documents and academic papers and finance sheets and for every single question they have about the world, and if you tell them about the ecological costs they just laugh and say "I guess I've used a lot of water." and I've been in multiple gatherings of 10+ people where I'm THE ONLY PERSON who doesn't use chatgpt. it's turning me into a ranting raving pariah, because how don't you people see??? why don't you understand??????? this bullshit didn't exist five years ago, you absolutely do not need it, and it is destroying everything
Long time Wonwoo Crowned Heads reader here. Iâm sorry things have been so tough. But Iâm glad youâre starting to get answers. Some of what you described sounds a bit like my momâs congenital heart disorder. At one time it was called a hole in the heart, but over time and working with doctors she got a bit more detail that a flap isnât working as it should ultimately. (She not great at explaining specifics đ ) I donât know if thatâs the exact same thing youâre going through, but I donât think it was properly diagnosed until her 30s or 40s. I say all that to share that she is happy and mostly healthy (she has to take a baby aspirin daily and Iâm not doctor so I canât tell you exactly what thatâs for but I know her cardiologist is the one who prescribed that as the only medication related to that issue aside from 1 surgery to help with it) and she just turned 69 this year!
I hope this reassures you a bit as you continue on this journey to get some more clear cut answers. And if itâs something you can afford, def explore therapy options because navigating all of that is def cause for trauma that can lead to depressive episodes. Depending on where you live and if youâre still on your parentâs health insurance (up to 26 yo in the U.S.) you could potentially have mental health care coverage and/or seek out sliding scale or low fee providersâ I work in mental health for reference
Take care! And I wish you accurate diagnosis, supportive health care providers, and speedy recovery đâ¨
thank you so much! I'm glad your mom is doing well and I might discuss that with my cardiologist.
Luckily I'm in the Netherlands and therapy is covered by my health insurance! I'm now slowly stopping my autism specific help and I'm going to my GP next week to get a referal for actual therapy. (I've had loads of therapists in the past so I sort of lost faith in it, although my last therapist really did help me) I've also been on an SSRI for over 6 years which really helps me lol
thank you very much for the message, I really love Wonwoo's story myself (which is why it has more chapters than anyone else lmfao)

You made flowers grow in my lungs and, although they are beautiful, I cannot breathe.
Joshua Hong x Reader
Angst, Hanahaki!AU, Soulmate!AU
8.5k words
A/N: Iâve never read nor have I ever written about Hanahaki so idk how stuff normally goes down so this is completely my own take on it. Iâve changed some stuff about the concept to suit the story better but it will all get explained in the fic itself.
Thank you @onlandswimming for your help on this (cant tag u bc of the link thing bb)
You had heard about soulmates before, your parents mentioned it once or twice, showing you their white, Orchid shaped marks on their left handâs ring finger. But you only really got taught what the term meant exactly, the day after your eight birthday when your friend came to school, beaming because her mark, now still dark red, had appeared that night. It was in the shape of a Forget me not flower which caused some commotion in your class as people started to find out their parents all had different flowers. Didnât everyone have the same flower then?
The teacher calmed everyone down and explained that the flower you have fits your personality and that you and your soulmate have the same flower on you. She explained that soulmates are often not far apart age wise, and what the word soulmate meant exactly.
A love. Just for you.
You were in the clouds, you needed your soulmate to appear right now and fall in love. You wanted that warmth and comfort love gave you. You went up in your own thoughts and hadnât heard anything the teacher said beyond that point, until she mentioned something about not everyone getting their mark and so not everyone finding a soulmate.
Later you learned marks appeared during puberty. Some people got them sooner, some people got them later. But somewhere around puberty most people got their mark.
That didnât mean it didnât worry you. There were people, though only a few, that never got their mark. They would be alone forever, or get married to someone who wasnât specially made for them. What if you were one of those people?
You waited for your mark, checking your finger everyday. But even as you turned seventeen and all your friends already had their mark, yours still hadnât shown up.
You tried your best to hide how disappointed you were every time you looked at your plain hand. And everytime it scared you more and more. What if you really were one of those few people who never found their soulmate?
Afraid you would never meet the person of your dreams, the person made for you and you alone, you desperately started searching. Clinging onto everyone who was even the slightest bit nice to you.
You even had a boyfriend, that is, until his mark turned white when he first met your friend. A thing you couldnât get angry over; itâs not like you could choose your soulmate. You envied your friend though, not necessarily for the guy, but for the fact she found him. Youâd give anything to get what she got.
As you turned twenty, and the mark still hadnât appeared, you decided to just⌠give up, throw in the towel. You tried to stop hoping, tried to stop expecting. Just hoping that eventually someone would turn to you saying their mark had turned white as they bumped into you or something like that.
You also gave up on boyfriends, you had never really loved any of them anyway, and they basically only caused you to feel more horrible about the whole matter.
But then, during your first internship, which would last two semesters, you met a peculiar guy. A guy who made you heart flutter like it never had before. You had no idea how to describe this feeling but you did know that, as soon as your stomach started to make summersaults, you got scared. For some reason. This is how people in books explained falling in love⌠did that mean you were falling in love with this guy?
Joshua Hong, an intern just like you, but from a different school. He was charming, nice and really, really pretty. And every time you saw his smile your heart skipped a beat. Everyday you started looking forward to seeing him again and you hated yourself for it. This guy probably had a lovely relationship with someone already, maybe even a soulmate even though you hadnât spotted a red nor a white flower on his finger. And also because you really did not want to fall in love.Â
Every civilian that dies is blood on Israelâs hands. INCLUDING Israeli civilians. There wouldnât be a NEED for any type of retaliatory attack if it werenât for over 70 years of genocide. Civilians should not have to die because of the actions of a genocidal governments regime. Every single person who dies in Israel or palestine as the result of it is the fault of the Israeli government and they care more about maintaining occupation than their own peoples lives (which has always been evident in so many ways).
Also important to remember when people start bringing up October 7th again. When people use this to condemn palestine remember these deaths never shouldâve had to happen and are completely the fault of the Israeli government and their regime and they should have to answer for these deaths as well as their prioritization of genocide and occupation over preventing death or retrieving hostages even when it comes to their own citizens
You took your bag from the overhead storage hurriedly. What was it about airplanes and feeling rushed? The small hallway was jammed with people wanting to get out and you did not want to be the one to keep them all.Â
The airport in Wraya was small compared to the one in Dres Van, where you used to live and work. Dres Van was known for its fashion, so it was the place to be as an upcoming fashion designer.Â
You waited for your 2 suitcases at the baggage carousel and followed the signs to the exit. You were slightly surprised to see a gorgeous black car waiting with someone holding up a sign with your name on it. The man introduced himself as Reginald, the princesâ driver. Prince Seokmin had sent him specifically to pick you up because: âonly the best for my new designerâ Reginald supposedly quoted.Â
He took all your bags from you and loaded them into the trunk, he seemed to get slightly offended when you offered to help. You wouldn't know what it was like to be a princess, but you felt like one right now. A driver, a beautiful car, everything being done for you.Â
The drive wasn't very long. You'd almost argue that the longest part of the drive was the driveway to the castle, which was a gorgeous, ancient looking building. Even though Wraya was one of the smallest countries of Pledis, it was also one of the oldest, and its royal castle reflected that. You drove past the front entrance to the side of the building. From here you could see the newest part of this historic building, which looked a little strange. Such an old building connected to a very modern building. But it felt right, in a weird way.Â
Reginald stopped close to the staff entrance, taking your bags out of the trunk. He told you to wait for someone to pick you up and then drove away.Â
You looked at the sun drained garden, trying to drown your nerves in wonder.
âHello,â someone said softly.
It startled you slightly, making you turn around swiftly. To your surprise you stood face to face with the brightly smiling prince Seokmin.
You remembered to curtsy, then doubted yourself. Were you supposed to curtsy? How did you greet a prince?
âYour highness,â You greeted. Was that a proper greeting? âHello.â you followed up, just to be sure. Suddenly you felt self conscious. You were aware of everything about yourself. If you had known the prince would have been here to greet you, you would have worn something different, maybe re-done your makeup in the airport bathroom.
âI almost introduced myself to you just now, that would have been awkward considering we've already been introduced before!â The prince laughed and smiled a bright smile.
You couldn't help but chuckle.
âIf I has known your highness was going to greet me at the car, I would have worn something more appropriate.â You decided that as his new clothing designer, you should address your baggy, wrinkled pants and oversized t-shirt.
He waved with his hand, âNo worries. You look perfect. And you weren't the only one who wasn't aware I would be escorting you, so let's hurry slightly before James gets here.â He winked, but you were fairly sure he wasn't actually joking.Â
Before you could do or say anything, the prince had taken both your suitcases, and walked off at high speed. He baffled you, you stood there, frozen in place, for a few seconds before charging after him.
"Your highness! Your highness, please! Are you sure you should be taking my bags?â As you caught up with him you could see he was smirking.
âOf course! It's rude to not offer your guests help with their suitcases.â He looked at you with an expression you couldn't quite place, âAnd, anyway, here in Wraya you don't let a lady carry heavy things if you are able to help her. So here I am, customs and such.âÂ
At this point you had entered the building, you were too busy with the chaos prince Seokmin admitted to really take in your surroundings though.
âI am hardly a lady, your highness. With all due respect, I really think I should carry my own bags.â You really hoped that wasn't disrespectful in any way, you just didn't want anyone to see you with the prince carrying your things. You didn't want them to get a negative first impression of you.
He stopped abruptly, looking at you with a serious expression, âYou want to disrespect our customs?â
You had never seen him serious, on pictures, during interviews, he was always just smiley and full of sunshine, his sudden moodswing startled you visibly. That's when you noticed he seemed to barely be able to hold in his laughter.
âI'm joking. But they're really not heavy or anything.â He said, while handing one of the two suitcases over to you.Â
You took that win, one was better than nothing and there was no way you were going to argue with a prince. Carrying one of your own suitcases calmed you a little, enough to look at the amazing building you found yourself in.Â
Even though you entered through the old part of the castle, it was clear you were now in the newer part. Clean lines and such. It looked like a house built in the 70âs, but way bigger. There was a blue carpet floor-liner with intricate details, it seemed to go through the whole building. On the walls were some gorgeous lights, about 5 meters apart from each other. They looked like flowers.
You tried to pay close attention to where the prince was leading you, so you wouldnât get lost in the future, but you already knew it was hopeless. You told yourself to ask if they had a map of this place you could use in the future.Â
âI really hope youâll enjoy your time here.â Prince Seokmin said, he was walking beside you, the few staff members you ran into bolted aside when the two of you walked past, he smiled at every single one.
âThank you, Iâm sure I will, your highness.âÂ
He seemed to slightly cringe at your politeness, something you had noticed him doing before. You wondered if âYour highnessâ wasnât proper, maybe you had to address him with something else. But he didnât say anything.
âI mean, you know, working for mister Popelin must have been fun⌠I just hope you can find joy here as well.â He shrugged and kept looking ahead.Â
You frowned, working for mister Popelin was your dream, it had been since you were young. But you were lucky enough to have worked for him for a few years, âIt is a great opportunity to work for you, your highness. I am very much looking forward to it.â
That answer seemed to satisfy you. He looked at you with a big, cheeky smile on his face.
You looked at the unopened letter your boss Olivier Popelin, most praised designer of Pledis, had handed you a couple of minutes ago. You had laid it on your desk so you could look at it from every angle. It looked so⌠out of place on your messy desk.Â
âYes, yes. It is definitely for you. Your name is clearly written on it, and the person that delivered it pressed it on me that it had to go to you and no one else.â Mister Popelin had said after you asked him for the third time if he was sure this was meant for you. You just couldn't believe it.Â
You looked at it over and over, but you were absolutely sure. That was a Royal stamp. But it wasn't from the Royal house of Dres Van, where you lived. You had searched on the internet and found that this stamp belonged to the Royal household of Wraya. You had no idea what they wanted from you at all. Your designs were alright, that you were sure of. Only the best of the best got to work at Popelin's. But definitely not good enough to get noticed by a member of the royal family.Â
You were curious, yes. But you didn't want to open it. You were scared, anxious. What if it was something bad? You weren't too sure what it could possibly be and couldn't really come up with bad things the king of Wraya could do with a simple girl from Dres Van. It's not like you lived around the corner, he couldn't lay a finger on you. But what if it was bad?Â
âAren't you opening it?âÂ
You jumped from the unexpected voice of your friend Jiyoon that whispered in your ear. She sounded excited, knowing her, she was beaming to find out what was written in the letter. Why the royals of Wraya would need you.Â
âCome on! I'm curious.â She chuckled.Â
You took the letter off the table with shaking hands, opening it as carefully as you could so you wouldn't rip the seal. Maybe it was posted in the wrong place anyway. If you had to send it back the seal should stay intact.Â
We invite you to work as the private designer of his royal highness prince Lee Seokmin of Wraya.Â
A few weeks ago Mister Popelin had called you in his office. It's not like he didn't do this more often so you didn't think anything of it. Until you saw the way he looked at you.Â
A look you weren't really able to place, not angry but not his usual happy. It seemed like a mix of sadness, surprise and curiosity. Mister Popelin was known for his friendly and open expressions, this wasn't like him at all. You frowned as you sat down.Â
âI just got a callâŚâ Mister Popelin started. You still weren't sure what you were supposed to think of his expression nor behavior. He didn't sit down on his chair, sat on the edge of the table while he twisted the end of his mustache between his fingers. Your head was racing, thinking about what you had done wrong and what this could possibly be about.Â
âIs it about the silk shipment? I knew I should have called them to follow up on that.â You could hit yourself for messing that up.
âWhat? No. But we will definitely be discussing that⌠I got a call from a mister Kim, head of the Royal household of Wraya.âÂ
Your eyes widened. Did they want to hire him for a job? That would be amazing for him. He had done a lot for the royal families of Pledis already, but it always was a great opportunity and an honor.Â
âHe says the prince asked for us to help him decide his outfit for prince Jeonghan's wedding.â
It took a while for his exact words to sink in â... Us?â
Mister Popelin simply nodded, the shadow of a smirk appearing on his lips âHe specifically asked for you.â
Your head seemed to explode. The prince wanted advice from you? That couldn't be true. Why would he want advice from you of all people? How did he even know who you were?Â
âHe says he saw your designs at the fashion show and was very impressed with your skills. He wants to know what you think.â It was as if mister Popelin had read your mind. He nudged your shoulder when he noticed you didn't seem too happy âAh, but this is a wonderful opportunity for you, my lovely! You can add this to your portfolio, that will impress future clients! Why aren't you happy?â
But you were happy. Just⌠surprised.Â
You knew Prince Seokmin wasn't seen as a very serious prince, he was known for his jokes and lightheartedness, but it still kind of surprised you. You were honored nonetheless, a prince wanted your advice on an outfit for a royal wedding, this was a really big deal.Â
And so, about two weeks later, you stood on the steps in front of the royal castle of Wraya, mister Popelin beside you. You held on to his case filled with designing equipment, you both imagined youâd be observing, kind of like mister Popelinâs helper. After all, the designer was known all over the world, he got asked for advice way more often.Â
However, in the princeâs room, as you were discussing what would look well, the handsome prince turned to you and asked you about your opinion. A lowly designer, next to a master of the trade, was asked about her opinion on the outfit for a prince.Â
His smile was enchanting, rendering you speechless. The prince saw your silence as a sign you hadn't heard his question.Â
"What do you think? The green shirt, blue shirt, white shirt, or the black shirt with the red suit?"Â
You straightened your back, forcing yourself to stop getting distracted by the prince's eyes, and looked at the suit and dress shirts on the bed. You got up to get an even closer look, touching your chin in thought.Â
"With this dark red color, the green will look like you're wearing a Christmas outfit, highness. So I wouldn't wear the green shirtâŚ"
You heard Prince Seokmin chuckle, "Christmas. I like it. Alrighty, I won't wear the green shirt."Â
Both you and mister Popelin looked up in surprise. He immediately listened to you? You weren't even a famous designer and he listened to you?
"Personally I'm not a fan of white shirts with red suits, but that's honestly just a preference. I think the black would look better. And, considering the dark color of the blue shirt, that could look very sophisticated too." You decided to leave it there. Making a real decision could seem pushy.Â
Prince Seokmin nodded and threw the white shirt behind him without batting an eye, âAlright. So itâs between the blue and the black. I like it.â He stroked the black shirt with his index finger.
You couldnât help but look at his face, it was so beautiful. He was pouting a little, seemingly deep in thought. No one outside of the castle ever saw such a serious side of him, maye not even anyone inside of the castle. He was mesmerizing.Â
Suddenly he looked up, straight into your eyes. You immediately felt the blood rush to your cheeks and pretended you had been looking at the shirts this whole time and not his face.
âSo?â he asked.Â
The âHm?â sound you made came out before you realized.
Thankfully the prince seemed to find it amusing, âThe black shirt or the blue shirt?âÂ
You turned your head to look at mister Popelin, hoping heâd step in and save you. But he gestured at you to make a decision.Â
So you turned back to the prince, âI prefer the black shirt. But this is a personal decision so you should decide what you like better, your highness.âÂ
âI asked you here to advise me, didnât I? Thank you. Iâll go with the black.â He picked the black shirt up and hurried to a corner of the room to get dressed behind a dressing screen, âIâll go try it out now!âÂ
You sat back down beside mister Popelin who was smiling encouragingly at you, âgood jobâ he mouthed while patting your head.Â
You took your teacup and realized you were shaking from nerves. But you powered through it and took a sip.
âAlright, alright.â The prince said enthusiastically, he walked back to where you could see him.Â
Both you and mister Popelin stood up to see it closer.
âVery niceâŚâ Popelin mumbled, he carefully touched the collar.
âI also have a blue suit, if that would work better.â Prince Seokmin was clearly eager to look good for his friend.
Popelin shook his head, âNo, no. This is perfect I think. What you?â He turned to you.
Prince Seokmin smiled at you.
âIsnât blue more appropriate for a day wedding..?â you thought aloud.Â
The prince frowned, âReally? I didnât know that. Letâs change into the blue suit.âÂ
"Oh I, I didn't mean it like that." But the prince had already gone to change.
Mister Popelin was getting excited, "You should pair that with the black or the white shirt!"Â
At the end of that day prince Seokmin decided to wear a light blue suit with a white shirt and a dark blue tie with hearts on it because "a wedding day is all about love"
Prince Seokmin put his sunglasses on the moment he got out of the airplane. Dres Van was always sunny, and Seokmin loved it.Â
Waiting for him was a limo, courtesy of the state. A bodyguard held open the door so he could enter, his escort, head butler James, sitting beside him.
"It's not like you to go to a fashion show, highness." He noticed.
Prince Seokmin shrugged, "I'm going for the other princes. Minghao really wanted me to come and Soonyoung and Mingyu will be there too, I always love to see them." He did enjoy fashion, and was sure a fashion show could be fun, but he would have never really thought of going to one himself. If Minghao hadn't called him to ask, he wouldn't have even known about it.
"I heard young prince Chan will be attending too."Â
"Oh! I didn't know that. I haven't seen him for so long, how exciting."Â
Even after Minghao asked him to come, prince Seokmin hadnât been sure he should. Sure, he liked fashion, if anything he loved the artform it is. He knew Minghao and Mingyu were always trying their best to wear something great. When he heard other princes were coming, including the busy prince Jeonghan, he decided it might be fun and educational. And now that prince Chan would be there, Seokmin really got excited. He loved spending time with the other princes, but when they all got older they all got busier and less available. especially because most of them were all crown princes.Â
Not Seokmin though, his big brother was in line before him, granting Seokmin some more time to spend on things like this.
He had a way better time than he had imagined at first. There had been wonderful designs, he loved how prince Minghao and Mingyu had watched in ecstasy, loved seeing them enjoy themselves. Seokmin had been surprised, and beyond happy to see the princes that attended. Together they had laughed at silly outfits and gasped at pretty ones.Â
But one of the designs stood out to him, not only was it very good, but also because at the beginning of the catwalk, from between the curtains, the pretty face of a girl was visible. The second he saw her he noticed she looked nervous, so he figured the amazing design this male model was wearing was made by her.Â
He lay awake that night thinking about her and her design.
