Just A Spoon Away
In 1975, Betty introduced prepared, canned cookie dough so families could just Spoon & Bake right out of the cupboard — no refrigeration necessary! This was one concept that didn’t stick around for long.
And thanks to the recent move of our General Mills Archives, we now know what Spoon & Bake dough looks (and smells) like when you leave it in the can, on the shelf for 38 years!
If Betty Crocker manufactured this today, 39 years later, everyone would eat it straight from the can.
