Crackships Daily: An Introduction

Hi! Welcome to crackships daily! A fun, weird little side blog that posts a crack ship idea or two almost every day.

For those that don’t know, a crack ship is a fanon relationship (platonic, romantic and/or otherwise, though usually romantic) that is perceived as impossible or outlandish for a variety of reasons. Such as the characters involved having very few or no interactions with each-other in canon, being from completely separate franchises, being different species or even being inanimate objects. I recently got obsessed with this concept thanks to @shippingbot on Twitter (who, if you have twitter, I highly recommend you go check out). Unfortunately I don’t use twitter anymore for a few reasons, but still had a huge list of character/ship ideas I never got to submit to @shippingbot.

Then it dawned on me: why not try doing a similar concept to @shippingbot’s account, but with a tumblr blog? And that’s what I did.

Of course, this blog is not run by a bot, I’m not tech savvy enough to wrap my head around stuff like Perchance or Zaiper. I just made a huge list of characters and shipping scenarios and randomly picked them using one of those spinning wheel websites, giving me some easier to obtain, but still random and chaotic results.

Anyway I hope you have fun looking through all the weird, wacky and occasionally cursed relationships showcased on this blog! If you want to submit something or send an ask or two, please read the rules first.

i am the goblin who runs this here blog. otherwise known as @jondoe297

i am extremely bummed that when i do come out and adress the followers of this blog directly it will be with this news. well. here goes:

Comic Art Showcase will indefinitely stop sharing our favorite artists' works until further notice due to the deal tumblr's owner is making with A.I. companies to sell data,enabling the theft of the works of the platform's users to scrape to train their A.I.

while for the over 5 years(!!) now that i have run this page and shared the love of comic art i am so passionate about,through ups and downs,i have kept this page strictly for doing so. not presenting any topics or ideas or even showing my own personality or linking my personal blog(even though i have been flirting with the idea recently. well i guess now is as good a time as any) i feel that if nothing else i have to use this specific platform i have,as it is,to address this topic as it is intrinsic and intertwined with this page's theme or activity. and i will not have it be an open buffet for these greedy corporations to scrape for data to feed the A.I. with which they seek to replace the very artists that i love and admire! even though it may be too late as we don't really know how long they've been doing this. well the inevitable came. and if this page is not deleted it will at least not be posted on for the time being. while we figure out what to do next.

in the meantime we can and have to all do what we can to fight for artists' and creatives' rights. if nothing else by not being a part of the theft and exploitation of them an their work. please do not use any generative A.I. programs for images or text. they work by scraping from databases of artists' and creatives' works without any permission,credit or compensation.

for now we can at least 'opt out' of having our content be shared with the A.I. companies in the settings.

keep in mind this seems to be only available on the web version and not on the app for now!

then go to visibility. and turn ON the 'prevent third-party sharing' option. make sure to turn it ON not off.

and you have to do this for each blog and sideblog individually so make sure to do that!

and artists make sure to use Nightshade and Glaze to protect your artwork and images!!!!

the best combination is to use Nightshade first then Glaze on your images.

Glaze creates a protective layer on the image to prevent A.I. from copying it. while Nightshade poisons the A.I. sotfware.

This will be a poll bracket blog dedicated to ships between visibly monstrous/non-human characters.

Currently work in progress for now as I’m busy with uni work and would also love more submissions from all of you!

What I’ll include

any ship involving all partners being visibly monsterous/non-human characters!

Both canon and fanon ships

Crossover ships

Polyamorous/ot3+ ships

Any ship involving all characters passing the harkness test

What I won’t include

anything that doesn’t pass the harkness test. (beastiality, basically).

Ships between underage (18 or under) characters and adult characters. (Ships between teenagers/young characters of the same/similar age are ok, though)

Incest ships

Any ship involving irl historical figures, celebrities or real life people in general.

General etiquette things

no ship wars on this blog! You can post propaganda about your fave ship, but tearing down someone else’s ship, or personally attacking/harassing them over it just isn’t cool.

No harassment/bullying in the notes or askbox. Anyone trying that will be blocked.

If you have any ships you want to submit, please do so through the Google docs forum down below, not the ask box or messages. The ask box is only for questions, nice comments about the blog and/or ship propaganda.

You can submit multiple ships, but do not spam the doc with the same ship.

I’m deeply sorry for the huge gap between posts. Uni work has taken up a lot of my free time at the moment. I’ll try and get some posts que’d up for October tonight if I have time. I also have some character requests in my ask box, but I gotta make sure they fit the rules and look up the characters canonical ages. So stay tuned!
