VS bra guide without hook/magnet
this has been requested a few times so I wanted to make a new guide. i have lifted hundreds of dollars worth of bras at VS for quite some time now and i’ve never had any problems so i figured i’d help yall out.
there’s two methods i use, one with a shoppers tote and one without. if your VS usually counts then you might have better luck just holding the bras.
1. walking in - basic rules apply, it’s better to come not in a group, be friendly but avoid SAs. i look around for a lil bit and then take a shoppers tote. sometimes i will lift bras without using the shoppers tote but i will write more on that
2. i usually lift undies as well if i’m using the shopping tote, it’s less sus to have the shoppers tote that way so you can act like you just didn’t want to hold a bunch of panties. if you don’t use the tote you can grab a panty or two after you get some bras but it’s harder to hide.
3. looking for bras - the bras you need to look for are ones tagged on the lace or fabric. this makes it easier to cut. don’t be frustrated if you find a style of bra you like that doesn’t have this kind of tagging. tagging on the elastic is standard procedure for vs but i can always find some tagged on the lace or fabric, even some without tags on a good day. you can cut out tags on the elastic if you really wanna but it’s harder and might damage the bra. don’t be sus while looking for these bras. it looks kind of odd to be checking different bras of the same style and size for tags. be discreet, act like you’re checking the price. take the bras and put them in your shoppers tote or hold them if you are not using a tote. after finding the bras i usually take a couple bras i don’t intend on buying or lifting.
4. find an item with pockets and another large item to cover the stuff. i usually take a sweatshirt and sweatpants and lay it on top. if you’re not using a shoppers tote, take a clothing item and place it on top of the bras in your hand. don’t completely cover them, but cover the bras you want to lift and expose the ones you don’t. i usually take one of their stain slips for this method. make your way to the dressing room. once in the room, make sure the SA is not sitting outside doing other shit. if she is, send her out to the floor to get another size/style or w/e. you’re going to have to detag fast now.
*if the SA counts, you’re kind of fucked but if you reeeally want your shit, you’re going to have to be a lil risky. the SA has only ever counted for me once when i’ve been trying to lift. what i did was detagged as normal and waited for her to leave/help another customer in another fitting room (it’s best if she left) and haul ass out of there. they rarely ever recount anyway
5. since you don’t have a hook or magnet, you’re going to have to cut out the tag using a pair of durable, curved nail scissors. these are small and easy to hide and they have the ability to get into smaller spaces, which makes them ideal to use. the hole isn’t very noticeable but you can sew them if you want. place the tags in the item with pockets.
6. if the SA is outside when you leave, DO NOT give her back the item with the tags. put that one back yourself. whether you take the bras or other items you didn’t lift and put them back yourself is your choice but i usually do it myself, i think it minimizes contact with SAs which is what you want.
7. after you do all this you can fake a call or just walk out. enjoy ya bras girl 😎
i hope this guide helps! if anyone has questions my ask box is open
good luck yall!!
Does anyone have any tips for the MAC store? Not the one in Macy’s, but the individual store. I’ve never been to one, so I have no experience with it.
employees are always snobby af in every mac store ive been in even if you arent lifting so be sure to dress the part and do your makeup really well especially if youre a teen. its. its usually really small and theres like 2-4 sas including the cash girl so theyll cs you as soon as you walk in if its not busy just say hi im just browsing and move on, test some lip shades and whatever. i noticed that theres very minimal cams tho so if you stay under the radar and try not to get noticed by sas youll be ok
In the MAC store near me, there aren’t any camera that I’ve seen maybe some hidden ones. Also all the products are kept in draws below the testers except for lip liners, eye shadow and make up brushes.
thank you!! This is helpful! Does it look sus to be opening drawers underneath the testers?
check out this post!
well I went on SA though and there seem to be more candidates than i thought - even active ones/near where i live
when I go to college.... Soon
tbh i wish there were more ‘sugar mommies’ because sugaring has always been interesting to me but there’s no way in hell i could be comfortable around some old-ass dude. but if i could do that in a lesbian relationship i would hop on that shit in an instant
also I fucking hate seeing shit I want but I can’t lift… found this massive assassin’s creed artbook forb $60!! but it’s like as big and thick as a yearbook and I’m not that confident in my ability
If I did want to go for it though, I suppose the best way would be to have on a thick coat, grab the book, then take off the coat and drape it over my arm... somehow in a way that covers it without looking too sus? Then go to the bathroom and check for RFIDs, shove it in a large purse and get out of there.
I'd probably have to practice it to get the motion down, lol.

I did go to b&n yesterday and grabbed a pack of tiny moleskines + an algebra 1 book for the kid I'm tutoring shoplifting for ~knowledge~
I used to have trouble removing gator tags with pliers or rubber bands (still want to try that credit card way) so this is how I’ve done it, I hope this helps someone!
(sorry for reposting, I realized I made a mistake in it)
We are forced to live in a system that steals from us daily, Kill snitch culture.
Important things to keep in mind!
- never take from ‘mom and pop’ type store. Its likely you’ll actually harm them, whereas taking from a walmart wont effect much.
- never take items that a worker is assigned to monitor (usually super expensive items), theyll be in trouble for it. and its usually a minimum wage worker and usually they lose hours or pay, or they even get fired.
- similar to the above, never take things that are usually locked up for the above reason
- if its a store you know gives their near-expiration products to workers/charity, try to avoid taking the near expiration products.
- if youre taking clothing, avoid leaving hangers. it sounds weird, but itll make it seem like it was more likely an error in the computer than a theft, since the empty hanger sitting there will seem suspicious.
- also for clothing, try not to take more than one item at once, as it will look suspicious if theres 10 medium shirts missing, and it won’t be written off as just a stocking error. and it will lead to workers being penalized
- basically just always consider ‘will this harm a worker’ and if the answer is yes then dont do it
like i was homeless for a while when i was younger and i tried to follow those guidelines to avoid doing harm to people who were probably not much better off than me while trying to get food for myself.
Holy crap, is there like an unspoken thieves code or something?!
it’s a thing. I won’t even lie. I watched someone slip a nursing exam book in their bag at the store I worked at. She made eye contact with me and the blood drained from her face. I simply gave her a sympathetic nod and walked away.
I live in a small town and I knew she was a waitress at a hotel my sister works at, and people at that hotel don’t tip well during off season. Nursing exam books are 50+ bucks. Being a med student myself, I didn’t even breathe a word, and when inventory came up later and the book was missing, I suggested it was likely a mislabel, and the manager wrote it off.
Sometimes, thievery is a necessity. Don’t send people to jail over petty shit.
Don’t snitch. That is all.
We been saying snitches get stitches
Omfg stealing a bunch of shirts from a large corp WILL NOT harm workers god damn
^ this but also why is the guy shoving a stapler in his coat
ALL ABOUT MAGNET DETECTORS
Okay so a lot of people suggest holding up their golf detachers above their heads when passing through magnet detectors in stores. ⚠️ THIS DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! ⚠️
This is trusted information from my a friend who used to work for LP. Holding your bag or magnet above your head or going around is not going to help. They have a 3 feet reach up and sideways.
These are the only stores I know that have magnet detectors: Macy’s Nordstrom American Eagle Forever 21
If you guys know any more tips or knowledge about magnet detectors or more stores please add on to this post.
Be careful you guys!!
Also, where do you hide the tags after you're done taking them off?
Pockets of clothes like jeans or jackets. Or double tag them. DO NOT leave them behind in the fitting room.
Adding: Inside the removable padding in swimwear. Rolling up pants hems to create a cuff works well with denim. Hiding them in the created cuff. Sleeves can be cuffed too. Double tagging on washing instructions. Double tagging with the following options based on where the store in question tags clothes: one on the sleeve, one on the neck, one on the bottom hem, one on the armpit.
