First of all, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for the warm welcome and support you’ve given our sweet baby Cloak. It’s truly been a labor of love and I can’t thank you enough for knocking this early launch out of the park!

Second, I want to let you guys know that IT’S OK IF PEOPLE HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THE BRAND. We’re hear to LISTEN to people and if people have concerns it’s imperative to LET THEM SPEAK THEIR MIND.

We’ve worked so incredibly hard to bring this dream of ours to you and we’ve fought every step of the way to make sure things were done right. But this is only the beginning. This is where we HAD to start because if we didn’t start small the idea would fall flat on its face and crash and burn and explode in a fiery ball of fail.

The sad truth is that we don’t have the resources that the bigger companies have… yet. But we will. The reason I’m so grateful right now is because you guys have already done MORE than enough to ensure that our dream for Cloak keeps marching forward.

And as we grow, we’ll have more and more items to add to our catalogue to fit the needs of more and more people.

We’ll have more negotiating power with suppliers to get better and better rates for production.

You haven’t even SEEN what we have in store for you guys on the customer service end of things (we commit to making everything right no matter what) but even that will get better as we learn and adapt and shift and change to meet YOUR NEEDS.

Cloak is not merch. Cloak is not just a couple hoodies and some t-shirts. Cloak is our commitment to you and I’m so damn excited to see what the future brings!

Ever felt the desire to knit the fourth doctor’s scarf from Doctor Who?? Back in the late 70s/ early 80s, this instruction sheet was sent out when fans wrote in to BBC asking about the scarf. I know someone’s out there that has the capabilities!!

On the morning of Sept 3, a flash flood (a 500-800 year flood) came rushing through my first floor apartment. My husband and I had 6 minutes from when the police knocked on the door and woke us up to when we left. We ran around, gathering a few things (his laptop, phone chargers, phones, spare underwear, wallets, two cats and their perscription food) as the water gushed in from underneath the carpet. We watched our car float away. So we trudged, in the rain, in thigh-high water, clutching two upset cats to higher ground. A nice person gave us a ride. We found a hotel that allowed cats and got a room. In the past 3 days, there have been tremendous highs (found a new apartment - on the top floor and far from the creek) and lows (renter's insurance denies any coverage.) But, as we were allowed to try and salvage anything from the place once the water receded, we discovered that we have very little to our name.

You know what I did find? On the top shelf of my closet, was my PMA hoodie and my Hannah Hart shirt that says, "Little by Little." Untouched by the flood water. I cried. I mean, I could have bought new ones. It was more that it was they were telling me that I'll make it. Little by Little. With some PMA.

We still have a lot to do and a long way to go, but hey, we'll get there.

Today's lesson: things can be replaced, but it is ok to mourn the things you lost.
