SURPRISE! I have a second Sonic AU. Mainly fueled by the fact I kind of want a "Classic" and "Modern" AU if you get what I mean. With Legacy of Chaos being the Modern AU while The Freedom Fight is the Classic AU.

It blends elements of Sonic Under Underground, Sonic SatAM and the Archie comics. (With a few touches here and there from the games and IDW when needed.)

So here we have designs for the triplets, one of their Freedom Fighting companions, Sally Acorn, their mother, Queen Aleena, and a roboticized King Lance.

More details about this AU in the future but I hope for now you enjoy the designs.

I love the way the chaos emeralds just kinda hovered and spun around Sonic as he walked in to confront Metal, instead of just transforming him right away. I swear they know him. 🤩

And even more than that, I LOVE how even though no one asked or expected him to, Sonic first tried talking to Metal before launching into a fight. 🥹😭

Sonic comforts Tails when he needs it most on his bad days.

Tails reassures Sonic that it's ok to lean on him if he is feeling troubled.

Sonic is the calm of Tails' storm.

Tails is the sunshine of Sonic's rainy nights.

Through the ups and downs. Highs and lows.

The brothers will forvever stick together as the unbreakable bond.

(Of course though as brothers, from time to time, they do argue and disagree on the other's opinions).

Crack-theory/comparison I made

Ok so what had happened was I was watching analysis videos for obsession (bc the movie isn’t streaming yet but I hear good things) and I’m like:

“hm, a person who had a completely normal life, but that freedom was taken by them because someone wanted to fulfill their own selfish desires, so they used a device intended to make people do what you want. And in this story, the device made this person have an obsession with someone that the device made them obsess over. And now this person has little to no control in their actions because the device makes them want to do things for that someone they’re supposed to like.”

WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE TO YOU???

A DEVICE THAT RUINED THEIR MINDS BECAUSE SOMEONE WANTED SOMETHING SELFISH

Here’s some comparisons look-

Bear’s selfish desire was so Nikki loved him more than anyone in the world. And when he gets a chance to end his wish because things are out of control, he instead wants to alter it instead of flat-out stopping what’s happening. Not to mention this all would’ve been avoided had he just asked her out like a normal person but noooooo

Starline’s selfish desire was to make a replacement for Tails, and conquer the world alongside Eggman, despite Eggman’s dislike for Starline. He made Kit as nothing more than a tool and servant for Surge. Every action or motive has is to benefit Surge in some way.

(Possessed) Nikki was willing to kill for Bear (and did).

Kit can and WILL kill for Surge if she asks, and has put people in danger to help boost Surge’s ego.

Is something gonna happen in idw where Kit starts switching between the person he used to be vs the person the hypnosis made him?? Like Nikki switching between her and Freaky Nikki???

(Also to make this 100% clear; I’m not saying Kit and Surge/Starline have the same dynamic as Nikki and Bear. Bear and Nikki had a twisted relationship that had gross themes and extremely s3xual moments together. I’m saying Kit is similar to Nikki in the fact he was forced into a role in which he’s supposed to be obsessed with someone, and now he’s stuck in that loop. What I’m saying is I think we might see something similar in the way the “real” Kit is trying to fight his way out of the hypnosis.)

I was looking at the preview cover for issue 89, and I noticed something that couldn't be seen with the official one, because the barcode in the corner blocked it.

In the broken shard of glass, we see Amy's reflection. Not our Amy, but the fake one! You can tell it is due to how the light is reflecting in her eyes has a strange shape to it, almost star-shaped.

This does fit well with what the summary had about Sonic facing someone who wasn't Amy. But was has me a little worried is Amy also encountered a fake Sonic but there's no mention of that in the summary, or hinted in the preview covers. I'm sure I'm overthinking this and she'll be fine at the end, but there's a part of me that can't help but wonder. Maybe I just want something big to happen with her. Amy is one of my favorites.
