The Bliss in Heartaches

I always marvel at the thought that this world has more than seven billion people, but that fact will never give us the assurance that we will end up with someone whom our heart yearns to be with. Most of the time, people don’t end up with someone their heart chooses. And it’s hard, it is a very tough pill swallow. I know it’s hard to live without someone who was once a hopeful part of your life. I know what it is like, living in the aftermath of another human being. I know it hurts. But you cannot focus on the people who walked away, you cannot keep all of that hope alive inside of you. At the end of the day, if someone wants to be in your life, they will be. Truly — they are capable, they will make the effort, and they will show up. If they do not — let that be your closure.

However, you do not have to hate them. You do not have to remember their contribution to your life as anything but beautiful. Do not ruin them in your mind, do not grip until you feel resentment. Instead, love them without attachment. Love the lessons they taught you. Wish them well every single time you think about them. Miss them, but do not ache for them to come back. If the people in your life left because they were not ready to love you, do not ask for them to be more than they can be at the moment.

So instead of focusing on the people who left, focus on the people in your life who have chosen to be there. Focus on the ones who stayed, on the ones who appreciate you and respect you. Focus on the people who empower you and grow you and make your life beautiful. You are surrounded by human beings who will not shy away from the love you give. You are surrounded by human beings who know that they want you in their life, people who will show you that every single day. Do not take them for granted. Do not lose touch of what you have, chasing what you no longer do. And always engrave in your mind and in your heart, that you are not defined by those who left you, by those who let you down.

Trust me when I say — you will miss out on beautiful things if you continue to let your past pull you from experiencing what the present has to offer you. Do not close yourself off to your potential. Instead, open yourself to the world, and allow for it to fill that space with the kinds of people, the kinds of moments, and the kinds of experiences that exhilarate you, that compel you — that make you love yourself, and your life, and what you have to offer, more and more each day.:)

February 9, marks your Nth Natal Day. I love you so much Ma! You are & always have been my bestfriend, my bestbuddy, my human diary. And I couldn't thank you enough for being an all in one package Ma. The word Thank You, is an understatement for everything that you've done to me. You've been both a mother, & a father to me for almost 3years now. You always make sure to suffice all of my needs, most especially in emotional aspect since I am sort of an introvert, a home-body type who always choose to dwell at my own pace instead of trying to fit in with the majority. For always understanding me, with all of my mood-swings. I wanna thank you interminably Ma, for always being the wind that helps the boat of my life sail through hightides, choppy waters, & endless storms. We may argue countless times. I may always find you hauling over the coals, over tiny stuffs, I do and would always still love you in a way that no one could fathom. I feel like I'm the luckiest daughter in the entire milky way galaxy for having a Mama like you, who loves me profusely. You are the catalyst of my existence Ma, without you I would probably be on the drainage now. Like the ground beneath my feet, all the love and care you've invested on me will be the foundation of pillars to support me as I walk life's twists and turns. I love you so much mama!
