when you think about it the whole TMR series is probably like 2-3 weeks long and in that time Thomas managed to get Brenda, Teresa, Newt, Minho and probably the entire glade to fall in love with him, basically crowning him the OG daddy

alright let us just talk really quick about the fact that thomas literally goes numb after newt’s death. whether it’s the book or the movie, he literally just loses all reality and wants nothing but revenge. that’s why he goes straight for WCKD and for ava and ugh the way he holds the gun up to ava in the movie. you can visibly SEE how broken he is. you can see the way his hand shakes with the gun and i honestly think that i cried more in the 

“is it true? i could’ve saved Newt?”

than i did in the whole entire page 250 scene. regardless if you take newtmas as a romantic ship or just a brotp, you can tell how much thomas cared for newt. losing him, watching him die, that haunts him just about the same as chuck’s death. newt meant the world to him and that’s why he really could care less if he came out of it alive. and THAT is why i love thomas so friggin’ much.

What got me most about the ending and Newt’s speech is that, if you take out the parts where he says “Tommy”, it sounds like Newt is speaking to you directly. He tells us that this journey was a blessing and that he’d do it all over again because when Thomas entered the Maze, we all entered the Maze as well. When Thomas met Newt, we met Newt. Newt tells us to look back on this journey and be happy, to live, and take care of those who are around us and that fucking breaks my heart because everything he said felt personal as if he was speaking to me! TO ALL OF US VIEWERS! We were all Newt’s friends … And I love him so much.
