Vacation is nice and all, but nothing compares to my own bed.
But the noodles are bad!
Have you even tried the noodles? Because I'm betting that you haven't. Noodles are fun to eat, see? [he picked up a noodle in his fingers and plopped it into his mouth, making a show of slurping it up]

It’s a metaphor, shit dick. And you still came up to me, I don’t want people coming up to me here. Just sit next to me if you’re so keen on it, okay. Don’t ask questions, just sit.
[sighs dramatically and moves to sit next to him] Now, how could you possibly expect me to know that? It's not a problem, just sitting down. It's just...I'm a stranger, why would you prefer that?
They cry, dribble, and vomit.
Adults do that too, you know. The main difference being that it's cute when kids do it.
Daddy said I wasn’t allowed a cupcake until I finished my noodles but I don’t like them.
[raises an eyebrow and plops down across from her] You know we all have to do things we don't like, button. But think about how yummy that cupcake is going to be.

"I never said it was a good excuse.. I had a bad day, I know that’s no excuse for my actions and you’re right I should’ve called I should’ve just gone straight to you instead of drinking but I was stupid and I didn’t and I’m sorry. I’m just really really sorry.. This is all my fault." He whispered and closed his eyes before kneeling in front of Blake. He tentatively reached up and ran his hand through Blake’s hair. "I feel like shit for what I did to you, kicking you out and the ring and the asshole-ish comments. You deserve better, I swear if you give me the chance I’ll be better. I’ll get your ring fixed, I’ll get it fixed I swear.."
The brunet's shoulders shook and he fought the urge to flinch away when Ryder's hand moved through his hair. The movement was soothing, though, and he found himself leaning into the touch a bit. "No," Blake murmured, wiping the tears from his eyes and sniffling softly. "No, I don't want you to touch it. I'll get it fixed myself. It's my own fault for giving it to you in the first place. Should've just listened to Dad when he told me to stay away. Ugh, he's gonna be so pissed." He trailed off for a moment, going still as he calmed down completely.
"I'm sorry, Ryder. I just... I can't be with you anymore. I'm in too deep and you... How could you not tell me that Ryder Pierce isn't even your real name? And what the hell was up with that shit a little while ago?" He looked up into Ryder's eyes, his own bloodshot and tired as he rubbed them roughly. "You thought I was gonna hit you? You...you need help. More than I thought you did, and way more than I can give you. I can't live my life scared that, one day, you're gonna go back to your mum's house and never come back to me."
Blake stilled suddenly when he felt something move in his lap. He glanced down and saw the kitten Ryder had brought home the night before, looking up at him with big, innocent eyes as it mewled quietly. A new round of sobs hit him and he banged his head back roughly into the wall. "God, but I love you so much. Until today, I honestly never wanted to leave. I still don't want to leave. I just want to go upstairs, curl my arms around you, and sleep. I just want to sleep. Can we please just go to bed?" Blake plopped the kitten into Ryder's lap and picked the other man up without waiting for an answer, climbing the stairs shakily. When he reached the bedroom, he closed the door with his foot and set Ryder onto the bed carefully. Climbing into the bed, the brunet didn't even bother to kick off his shoes before he tugged the other man closer and buried his face into the juncture of his shoulder and neck. He continued to sob quietly, listening to the silence and the kitten's annoyed meows that filled the room around them.
Ryder nodded because whether he wanted to or not he’d have to let Blake go. It wasn’t up to him anymore, he had fucked up so bad that he wouldn’t even take himself back. He bit his lip hard when Blake started crying and reached out to steady him. “I don’t know.. I was so angry and upset.. you wanted the ring back and I knew that was the end and I just.. I’m so sorry.. I’ll get it fixed I promise.” he whispered brokenly before pulling his hands back because he knew Blake wouldn’t want Ryder to touch him, he knew better than that.
"That's your excuse?" Blake asked, his voice cracking as he tried to sound angry. "You knew me taking the ring back was the end? You were angry? I was angry! You were kicking me out, Ryder! You came home drunk and then tried to kick ME out for thinking you should have called me instead of abusing a substance. Then you accused me of making excuses for not going to my dad's sooner because, God for-fucking-bid, I wanted to wait for you to come home so I could see you!" Blake laughed humorlessly before standing up straighter and wiping his eyes. "Yeah, no. Not an excuse for breaking my ring. I could have broken your Goddamned neck because I was angry, but I didn't. No, I brought you back inside and made you tea so you'd warm up." Another sob racked through his body and he struggled to make it to the door, his legs feeling like weights every time he tried to lift them. He gave up, though, and let his body slump to the floor, leaning his back against the door frame and pulling his knees to his chin to bury his face into them and just cry.
Ryder flinched at the anger and hissed slightly when some of the tea spilled onto his shirt. “It.. It can be fixed.. I’ll get it fixed for you and if you don’t want anything to do with me after that I won’t blame you..” He whispered before looking over at Blake. He frowned and placed the tea down before going over to him. He saw the blood and bit his lip. It was all his fault, this was all his fault. He felt sick as he made his way to the bathroom where he had the first aid kit before coming back with the rubbing alcohol and gauze to wrap his hand. If he hadn’t gotten drunk they wouldn’t have argued and they could’ve cuddled or something before Blake had gone to see his dad, but no he just had to fuck up yet again. He grabbed Blake’s hand softly and led him over to the sink before he washed the cut and bandaged it.
"I really just want to go home, Ryder," Blake replied, looking away as his cut was cleaned and bandaged. He took in a shaky breath and sobbed before he could stop the sound, nearly collapsing as his legs threatened to go out from underneath him. Before he knew it, he was crying harder than he had in a long time. He pulled his hand back and buried his face into it, leaning heavily on the counter. "Why didn't you just fucking hand it to me? It was the last thing she gave me before she died. Nothing meant more to me than that ring, and I thought I could trust you with it. Why didn't you just put it in my hand?"
Everything was coming in bits and pieces. Valentines day, he spent it babysitting.. No that was ten years ago, this Valentine’s day he was with Blake. Blake.. The name was so familiar yet he was still in and out. He tried desperately to stop crying but he just couldn’t, and when he felt the lips on his he cried even harder. Everything came back to him full force and he just sobbed, pulling back and shaking his head. “I.. I broke your ring.. I.. no..” He whispered and started sobbing harder. “Oh god, I’m so sorry.” he whispered and just sobbed. “I confused you with Mark.. and my dad.” He whispered brokenly.
Anger flashed in his eyes for a moment, having forgotten the ring in the concern for Ryder's mental health. He stood back and pushed the mug of tea back in his fingers again before clenching his jaw. "Don't worry about it, couldn't be helped," he said, his voice strained as a new wave of despair crashed over him. He gasped and turned fully away from the other man, wiping at his eyes roughly to stop the tears that threatened to boil over. Instead, he focused on his hand that was bleeding through the paper towel wrapped around it.
Ryder flinched and closed his eyes, tears falling regardless. He opened his eyes slowly like he was told but he couldn’t see anything but Mark and his mom’s house. He sniffled and reached up to wipe his tears but it was useless. Blake? Did he know a Blake? He didn’t remember meeting a kid named Blake at school, then again he didn’t remember a lot of kids. The room around him started shifting and he was already scared. It went from his mom’s house to his apartment and he tried to get out of the flashback, tried to grasp reality but it was hard. He looked at the man in front of him, he had green eyes. Mark had dirty brown ones. “Blake?” He asked brokenly, his voice a lot smaller than it had ever been. He still couldn’t see clearly, wasn’t exactly sure where he was.
Blake nodded slowly when Ryder uttered his name, his eyes lighting up softly when the other man's eyes finally started to focus on him. "Yeah, Blake," he murmured, taking the other man's face in both his hands and wiping away the tears with his thumbs. "Remember? We went to California for Valentine's Day and had a picnic on the beach." He sighed softly and thought for a moment, not actually wanting to do what he knew he'd have to. Wiping away the fresh tears that were rolling down Ryder's cheeks, "I swear to God, if you're having a go at me, I might actually hit you later," he muttered under his breath. Blake tugged his face closer gently and pressed a warm kiss to his lips, swiping his tongue along his lower lip.
"No.. It’s always my fault.. Dad always said it was my fault no matter what." He whispered and flinched when he was picked up, starting to tremble again. This was always the worst part, the waiting for it to happen. He winced at the cold counter and curled into himself even more, bringing his knees up to his chest. "You’re Mark.. Mommy’s husband.. She trusts you alone with me, says I’m always a good boy when I’m with you.." He started sobbing into his knees. "Please, I beg you.. Don’t hurt me.."
"Ryder, I'm not gonna hurt you," Blake repeated, brushing his fingers along the other man's cheek gently. "I'm not Mark, either. Look at me." He held Ryder's chin gently, giving him the option to pull away if he wanted, and turned it towards his face. "Snap out of it. You're not with Mark. You're at your apartment. I'm Blake, remember? Look at my eyes and remember where you are." He voice was stern but gentle as he slapped the older man's cheek lightly.
Ryder just sobbed as he wrapped his arms around his waist, a last chance to keep himself from getting sick. Oh god, it was going to happen again, he wasn’t going to be able to keep quiet this time, it was going to hurt just because he had cried and beg and Mark would make sure it did just like he always did whenever Ryder misbehaved. He flinched almost falling back and looked up with glassy eyes. All he could see was his mom’s house and Mark. “I’m home.. Mom’s out with Eve.. She got sick and she took her to the doctors, and I’m home alone with you.. I accidentally broke a plate while I was cleaning up and you got mad.. I didn’t mean to break it, it slipped.. Am I gonna get punished even more because you had to pick up it?” he asked shakily, eyes filled with more unshed tears.
He listened carefully when Ryder looked right past him, concern filling him enough that every other emotion was gone now. He thought carefully before answering, taking his lower lip between his teeth and chewing on it slowly. "No, I'm not going to punish you at all. Ryder, you didn't break a plate, I broke a mug. I cleaned it up because it was my mess," he murmured, taking the tea from his fingers and setting it on the counter carefully. Wincing at the pressure on the cut on his hand, Blake lifted Ryder slowly and set him on the counter as well. "Ryder... Who am I?" he asked slowly, unsure whether he actually wanted to know the answer.
Ryder was trembling, and he was back in his mom’s house. He looked down and he could see the red marks of Blake’s hands on his biceps. They would bruise and Ryder wasn’t shocked because this wasn’t new, he was used to this, to getting beat and raped this was his past, this was everything he knew. He shook his head rapidly. “Daddy taught me better than that.. Bad boys get punished, always..” his breathing started getting uneven and his vision of the floor got blurrier. “M’sorry.. I’ll go lay like you always told me to.. I’ll be better I promise, just please please don’t hit me.” He sobbed, his breathing erratic.
"Is now really the appropriate time for that?" he asked, turning back to the counter and grabbing a new towel. He tied it around his hand tightly and furrowed his eyebrows slightly, listening to Ryder's words carefully. "Ryder, I've never told you to go lay down when you're bad, I just make shit up as I go along." He trailed off slightly, turning back to notice Ryder wasn't even looking at him anymore. "Ryder?" He knelt in front of the older man slowly, lifting his face a bit. "Ryder," he sang and snapped his fingers in front of his face quickly. "Where are you at right now?"
