{Lame Title} | | Lance and Yellow
As Lance took his final bites of his morning meal, he listened to Yellow’s voice. This time, it wasn’t so…high pitched as it was before he ate. And it didn’t ring as much, which were both probably because of his non-existent migraine.
What…What did he hear? Powers? What is with this girl? Was she delusional? Hmph. That would explain the perky attitude. "What the hell do you mean…power?" Yellow called for the rejected Vulpix and began to stroke the back of it’s ears. Lance watched as the Vulpix slowly but surely calmed down. But there was something that was nearly impossible to miss…
The light that emitted from her fingers.
“W-What….What the hell was that? From your fingertips just now. What was that light?”
Yellow smiled, taking her free hand and putting a finger to her lips with a small wink. “They’re what I just told you about, silly! Buuut now that you believe me, I guess I can tell you for real.”
Her hand moved to her chin, the Vulpix curling up into her lap as she thought of how to describe it. “I got these powers from the Viridian Forest. That’s how I got my old alias: Amarillo de Tokiwa Grove, or Yellow of the Viridian Forest~. The Forest gave me this power when I was very little, and since then it’s been my job to use it for the betterment of nature. I can do quite a bit with it too! But usually it’s just for Pokemon.”
She held up her hand closer for Lance to see, the light a warm and golden yellow. “I can heal their wounds. I’ve never tried healing humans, but I can perfectly heal Pokemon if they let me into their hearts. The same can be said for their emotions…Using this power, I can tap into their emotions and read their minds and memories, which lets me calm them down.
"B-But I don’t want to use them too often if I can help it! It’s just useful for the Pokemon who really have a tough time, like the ones we get in the kennels. I always feel so hurt when I hear about how they were stolen, so…I help ease the pain and let them know that their new Trainers will really take care of them."
Lance was indeed in awe by the female's powers. He had never heard of someone who was granted powers by an ordinary forest before, or even a human with extraordinary powers. Lance had thought that was a special right granted to Pokemon. Had the Elders known? And if so, what part of his training was designated towards whatever plan they had with Viridian. The memories came flooding back. Yellow held up her hands near Lance's face, the brightness from her palms clearer than ever. He squinted a bit, but soon felt....at ease. Like he was home again. Not the Dragons Den...but what a home is supposed to feel like, whatever that was. It was a brief sensation, as Yellow pulled her hands away, taking the warmth and the homeyness with them.
"Ah...I see," he said, meekly. The warm feeling had set his usually cold demeanor off for some reason, like he was being introduced to a foreign object. "Are you the only one with those powers?"
