I’m always looking for new things to create! I was thinking of beauty products I haven’t tackled yet, and makeup/face wipes were one of those products. These face wipes are unlike anything you’ve ever tried! Using soothing, aromatic dried rosebuds and a variety of moisturizing oils, I was able to come up with the Rose Quartz Makeup/Face Wipes! Not only will you able to remove your makeup, but you can also rehydrate your skin, reduce the puffiness under your eyes, gently exfoliate, and lightly moisturize. For the ingredients, you’ll need the following: 1 cup distilled water, ½ cup of Dried (or fresh) rosebuds, 1 tbsp coconut oil, ½ tbsp avocado oil, ½ tbsp grapeseed oil, ½ tsp castor oil, and ½ tsp vegetable glycerin. Now for the fun part! It’s time to make our wipes!
DIrections To Make Rosewater:
1. Add the distilled water and rosebuds into a double boiler.
2. At medium temperature, heat the rosebuds in the distilled water.
3. Simmer until rosebuds color has faded.
4. Now, this next step is just a personal preference to keep any particles from getting into the final product
- Using a clean bowl, place a coffee filter inside
- Take the rose water and pour it into the bowl.
- Once the rose water is in the bowl let it cool.
- Collect the corners of the coffee filter and bring them together. with your fingers. Allow the rosewater to flow through the coffee filter.
- Bomb! now you have Rosewater!
5. In a clean bowl, add all of the oils.
6. Place the bowl either into the hot water you used for the rosewater or pop it into the microwave for about 15-20 seconds.
7. Add the melted oil concoction to the rosewater into a measuring cup.
8. Using an empty jar of your choice (I used a leftover 6 oz jar), add the cotton rounds and fill it.
9. Now pour the rosewater/oil mixture onto the cotton rounds until they are soaked (be careful not to add too much)
EDIT* use within a week and store in your refrigerator
