You could do a dynobites fic where the farcade team got separated into two groups (kit and kaboodle, the flappers and goobles) during a mission. After they regroup,
kaboodle gets a bit of a lump in his throat when he see's goobles methodically directing flappers on what to do like he would do with kit as teamwork (with less swearing) Like him just ogling goobles when he takes charge as a competent member of the team, man he'd be starstruck(would never directly admit it though, he might get away with a "it was...passable for your first mission, what you did...good..it was fine"
Before this robot can get a nice romance, he must pine for at least 7 business months <3
Note: I'm really sorry for not responding faster, procrastination is apparently my favorite thing (not) and I have now finished this!! Hooray!!
…Kaboodle never wanted to be with this stupid pink dinosaur and the Stupid Swolphin.
He never wanted to work with them, at all.
He just wanted to have things back to Kit and Kaboodle, to his best friend and him, when things were more simple.
That’s why he mentally cheered in joy when it was announced that they would split into teams, two, to be exact.
Kit goes along with Kaboodle, and Flappers goes along with Gobbles.
While Kit was nervous initially, Kaboodle promised they would be fine, and that nothing would go wrong with their side, though Kit didn’t believe this due to where this message came from.
And so, while Kaboodle quickly packed up everything he could as fast as possible, Flappers and Gobbles took it slow, considering everything they needed and wanted to bring along with them to their own spaceship Farcade would provide.
Both of them were giggling, while Kaboodle rolled his eye and sighed. He can’t wait to be away from those dummies!
And for once, he actually wished for the mission to be as long as possible, because, the moment they are done, Kit and Kaboodle would go back to greet Flappers and Gobbles again, which is the opposite of what Kaboodle desired for.
Soon, Gobbles and Flappers waved goodbye in an emotional way, walking away slowly as they went off to their own adventure.
Kaboodle almost puked from how disgusted he was from that alone.
Soon, Kit and Kaboodle reached the planet they were searching for.
All they had to do was check on the planet, make sure everything else was fine, and leave without a moment’s notice.
Oh, and make sure the hero doesn’t win, of course.
Fortunately, no Syntax was around trying to persuade the hero into getting anything done quickly, so Kit just decided to look around for a while.
Bingo! Kaboodle thought, as he knew that would distract from going back to the other duo for a bit.
The planet was, honestly, kind of beautiful, more space-like than anything else. Kaboodle indulged in the surroundings a little, enjoying the view, as Kit commented how pretty it was.
Kit has always been his best friend, through easy times and hard times. Kit really is a pretty kind person, though can be a bit rude sometimes, but only really towards Kaboodle because of them joking around.
Kaboodle noticed the stars, and the sky. It was filled with green, blue, and violet, all coming around to create something gorgeous.
Kit and Kaboodle also had a deep, meaningful discussion, too, now sitting down at an edge, the ground a deep, dark blue that matched the environment and sky.
Kaboodle suddenly wondered how the other duo was doing so far.
“...And I just think that he’s more than what he shows!” Gobbles finished, walking with Flappers as the dolphin held a map.
Flappers held his breath a bit, then, after a while, spoke up.
“...I don’t understand why you like him in the first place, because he’s always so mean to us! But I get why you would think that,” Flappers says, in a calm, honest tone, as he then smiled and looked at Gobbles.
“By the way… Thanks for teaching me how to read the alphabet,” the dolphin admitted, blushing slightly as he rubbed the back of his head and slowed down.
“Of course, Flappers,” Gobbles said, adjusting to walk at Flapper’s pace so he won’t have to catch up with Gobbles later.
“A-Anyways, I think there’s a town coming up here, if you want to take a moment to stop and recollect ourselves,” Gobbles informed cheerfully, smiling a bit more.
“Of course! Let’s go there,” Flappers said, picking up Gobbles suddenly and getting the two of them to the town rather quickly.
The four now had to regroup and become one now, with Kaboodle definitely not wanting to at all.
However, Kit was excited to see Gobbles and Flappers and what they did, Gobbles explaining mostly everything, except for one topic that Flappers made a confused look, an eyebrow raised, that Gobbles skipped over quite voluntarily.
Kaboodle was distracted with something else, simply checking on the spaceship.
When he suddenly felt a ping inside his non-existent heart.
It was something that was developing slowly but surely, but now had reached to the tippy top.
He slowly turned to look at Gobbles, and whatever kept Kaboodle in control mentally went loose, seeing him talking oh so sweetly about his view of Gobbles’ and Flappers’ trip without Kaboodle and Kit.
Gobbles turned to see Kaboodle, staring back, and they locked eyes and eye with each other.
It was beautiful, a sort of connection formed from just looking alone.
It felt so, so electrifying in the best way possible…
Until Flappers quite literally blocked Gobbles from Kaboodle’s view, looking at the two with suspicion.
Kit then was puzzled, wondering what was happening since she wasn’t really paying attention.
Flappers then led Gobbles to a different area of the sort of cramped spaceship, as Kaboodle turned away and cursed quietly as his mind spiraled to thinking about Gobbles in the most romantic ways possible.
