First 5 photos: where I was last year, same day. . . Last photo: Where I am today, tried my hand at Pad Thai. . . . Who would have thought that my trip with @ayemaleksis would be my last in a while. But that trip was one of the good ones even if it didn't go as planned cause of the rain. I'm grateful for the opportunity to travel with a coworker that I felt somehow I got to know a bit better.. And in addition provided me with learning about myself as well. . . . I think this quarantine gave me a chance to give more insight about my life and and my choices and my plans. I've had ups and downs like a lot of people cause of the anxiety and uncertainty this pandemic has brought to everyone. I've gained good people, strengthened relationships despite the limitations, but at the same time conviction of why I lost people along the way, or why i opted to stay away from them. I'm grateful that I have the luxury to be able to do that, while a lot of people in the country have to brave the streets everyday to put food on their table, medicine for their sick members, putting their lives at risk of the virus. Renovations at home made us see the sky in this light. Sent this first to my guy bestfriend to show that we don't have our roof.. But his comment was about how nice the sky is. Blue sky... And fluffy clouds. And it was beautiful. . . . I realized that there's a lot of craziness right now. With the pandemic and the political climate of the country, and not just here but around the globe. These make me feel anxious cause of the uncertainty of a lot of things. Despite these though, there's this beautiful sky and clouds that remind us that there may be barricades our things that hinder us to feel happy, but you have to make do with what you have for you to see the other nice things you can still find. The quarantine hasn't been easy for the both of us. But we make do with what we have. We try our best to make this world a better place to be in. I was supposed to make a story for her, instead putting this in my thread. . . . To the person who took on the task of being both parents to 2 crazy kids, who has done everything to ensure we were prepared for the real word and to still be that person who stays with us, even if she has to check in from two sides of the world (One in Manila and one in Toronto), happy birthday. Sister and I are blessed to have you as a mom. I'm pretty sure she would agree that our wish is for you to always be healthy and have peace of mind. In addition to the birthday, we are grateful that I think we can claim that you are now cancer free, since finding it out 5 years ago, a few days after your birthday. . . . Side story for anyone who would see this: My mom's surgeon wanted to do her biopsy on this day, 5 years ago. She turned 60 then, but she asked if she could fix her Senior citizen stuff before checking in the hospital. A few days after her birthday, I was the first one to know that she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and messaged my sister about the news. It was at the early stages, so somehow it was good we found out that early and by chance too. I had to decide fast on what to do because she was under frozen biopsy, and opt to have that breast completely removed. It was probably one of the hardest decisions I had to make because my mom would be waking up without one breast and realize she has the Big C. It has been a journey ever since. And now after 5 years, we just continue to be cautious and careful and hopefully it never comes back. . . . Again, happiest birthday mother bear. I know it has been a week. . But the last two weeks have been a lot to take in, so I am getting this one out just now. Apologies for the long post in advance. . . . A week before my birthday, I posted how I was having the birthday blues. It was probably the usual. But given my current mental health status, I honestly am always uncertain of things. But then ever since that post exactly two weeks ago, a lot of things have reminded me of what's important, what matters, what should be done and what to work on as well. I have been struggling for a year probably and the past two weeks was somehow a glimpse of what is out there at the moment.. . . . I got free session with a doctor friend who wants me to be her Guinea pig (but thank you doc). Then my old team gave me a cake which was completely surprising since tbh I didn't think they would remember and the cake was for someone else. . . . Then my mom decided to cook on my birthday when I litetraly was planning to sleep the whole day so family came over and a good friend as well to have a simple meal. After that my teammates as well decided to surprise me and another teammate @trishbarja. And coworkers/friends also gave me a little something to commemorate my birthday. Lastly, as a yearly tradition, finding a way to volunteer every birth month achieved. I honestly thought I would not get cake this year (as it was the most simple wish I have) but I got much more than that. Cakes, gifts, greetings which reminded me of what matters. . . . To be grateful for the good and also for the bad. To try your hardest in everything. To try and learn from mistakes and fix them as well. Admitting mistakes and apologizing. And being kind even if the odds are against you. To those who remembered, who forgot, who did not know.. Thank you. I appreciate it. I am hoping that every year I keep being reminded of these as I tend to forget. I took this photo a few months ago in one of my trips, and despite the amazing color this photo has, it was one of the saddest days of the month. This was not the first time I have felt that way, but it wasn't the last. . . . Today, I am sharing this photo as I may not be in the place wherr I took this, but I am feeling exactly what I was feeling back then. Sad, alone, and tired. I don't normally share these things, but then it has been 2-3 months since I have been swimming into a sea of endless sadness and loneliness that some people would not think I was in it. It has always been a struggle keeping all of my relationships because I am not good at that, and I am also not good in conversing and speaking my mind in the best possible way. Month after month, I feel like I am losing a part of myself bit by bit, losing people in my life as well and losing chances. And I would have to admit that it is indeed taking a toll on me already in every aspect of my life. . . . If you come across me one of these days, I hope you try to be a bit understanding and maybe share your thoughts and wisdom as to how I can cope and deal. Putting this here in case that I don't find the reason to fight another day, that I have tried, endless times, to fight. And if I stop, I will not have regrets because I know I did put up a good fight. . . . Whoever read this post and made it to this part, thank you. It means a lot to me that you listened/read. Who would have thought that this fatty would actually try to go to a Fun Run at the very least? And even do a 5km on her first try? . . . It wasn't well thought initially (since I wanted to do 3k and cause it's Marvel Run lol), but ended up doing it to tick off my bucket list and farther than initially planned. Getting soaked in the rain on the 2-3km mark up until close to the finish line I think was also one of the highlights. . . . Thank you to a good friend/coworker who finished this with me (even if she can probably finish this half the time we did).
