I’ve never gotten thick skin. If you close yourself off and you get this protective armor, there is a price you pay with that - of not feeling. And feeling is important when you are a songwriter.
“I’m going to close my mouth and let her tell that story. I’m going to let the song tell that story, she’s very confessional with her songwriting. She lives her life out there through it, and you will see.”

reputation, in my mind, is an album that is very linear in it’s timeline. Meaning that it kind of starts out where I was when I first started making the record. The album ends more where I am now in my life. So this is more towards the end of the album, it’s called ‘Call It What You Want.’

This is a song called dress where some lines I came up with a year before and then when I was writing the song I cherry picked and was like, “Like that, like that, like that!” And I was really proud of the hook of his because it sounds like a pick up line. Yet it’s a love song about deep and tender feelings.
