Haute-couture clothes affordable at home thanks to 3D textile filaments. 

Danit Peleg, a young designer from Israel, created pieces of clothing that can be entirely 3D-printed using home printers. Here is her website: http://danitpeleg.com/ . After having graduated from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, the artist had the idea to use Wintbox 3D printers and FilaFlex filaments to create clothes. She has been supported by TechFactoryPlus et XLN to achieve this aim. Research lasted 9 months. Today Danit Peleg’s fashion collection includes 5 pieces. This innovation could pave the way to a broader revolution. Imagine if anyone could print their own haute-couture clothes directly from their home… This is a step towards fashion democratization and personalization thanks to 3D printing technology.

KFC recently launched an innovative campaign in all its Cape Town based restaurants. The fast food brand has designed a new kind of tables that allow you to hear music thanks to your arms! Instead of traditional earphones, the table diffuses the music from elbow to ears through your arm’s bones. As the brand wanted to get closer to its customers, the music broadcasted was putting the light on local artists and NFC sensors allowed customers to share their favorite tracks and helps young local talents to merge

Cool down with a McFlurry

In July, McDonald’s and JCDecaux installed a heat sensitive panel in Amsterdam that would open to offer McFlurry cups only when the temperature broke the local record of 38,6°C. 

Despite the heat, people were eagerly waiting for the temperature to rise in order to get a cup and rush to the nearest McDonald’s to collect the McFlurry of their choice.

If it’s not an Iphone...

Apple’s latest Iphone ad is exploring a new aspect of the brand: not only do you get a great device, but it comes with a fabulous choice of apps. Another smart way to show the superiority of Apple against its major competitors, at a time where people tend to switch more easily from Apple to Android or Windows system.

As an Android user, I can only agree with the insight: how frustrating is it to discover that the great app you heard about is only available on App Store ? And there is nothing you can do about it because… if it’s not an iphone, it’s not an iphone !

556 children tragically lost their life during the Israel-Gaza conflict last year. To commemorate this tragedy, the Irish Artist organisation produced a harrowing installation along Dublin Bay last week. It consisted of 556 white baby vests, scattered as flags along the beach. Eye-catching and equally haunting.

I’m feeling very delicate about how long it took me to get into work today. If only I’d seen these during my 2 hour journey, I might’ve arrived less miserable.

This reactive work for Sure, by DLKW Lowe, is particularly impressive for such a beast like Unilever. Everyone loves a bit of localised London-specific advertising, it makes us feel important. Like we really matter. Even if that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The simple idea ‘It won’t let you down’ is loaded with the resentment that thousands of Londoners are feeling towards striking TfL-ers today, whether or not we believe they should strike.

These three OOH ads appeared on 48-sheets across London from the afternoon of 8th July.

As well as subtly adjusting its logo last week, Facebook has introduced a new friend icon which puts the woman icon equally next to the man, instead of lurking behind him. In fact, the woman is even ever-so-slightly in front of the man, as the design manager explain it was too hard to have them exactly next to each other without it looking freakish. Right on sisters!

Not only will London soon have a multi-storey indoor skatepark, but it will also soon be home to a gigantic trampoline park. The space is being opened by Oxygen Freejumping in West Acton and will include 150 interconnected trampolines and 11 metres of height spread across a vast 30,000 square-foot space. They'll also be running events such as Dodgeball, which pitches teams of eight against each other in the bouncy arena, and will have a restaurant area serving freshly made pizza. 

I would recommend eating pizza after using the trampolines...

An Irish animation short has been shortlisted for an Oscar nomination which will be announced in January.

Coda, directed by Alan Holly, has already picked up a slew of awards including best animated short film at SXSW and the prize for the most creative short film at the Edinburgh Short Film Festival.

The nine minute film tells the story of a drunken fool who stumbles through the city. In a park, death finds him and shows him many things. The film has a bleak look full of vivid color contrasts that recalls paintings such as the famous "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper. - Stephen Adams

In provincial West China, specialty firms collect groups of foreigners whom they rent out to attend events. Clients can select from a menu of skin colors and nationalities; whites are the most desirable and expensive. The most frequent customers are real estate companies. They believe that filling their remote buildings with foreign faces, even for a day, suggests that the area is “international,” a buzzword in provincial areas that often translates to “buy.”

I’ve got lost so many times poring over the handiwork of the sketchbooks.
