“Welcome back, Kafka”
Thirteenth finished attack, revenge on VeritasMori on Bluesky of his character Ekos! 💚✨ I got a little carried away with this one…
why do people need to be domesticated animals for petplay,. u r my lion i bought you illegallu and you are trying to kill me. go
To put it bluntly, the only way to end homelessness is to house people or kill them.
That's it. Those are your options. Homelessness doesn't go away based on "crime crackdowns." You will imprison the unhoused, and when they are free, they will be unhoused again. Or they will die in prison.
When you burn encampments or force people out without their stuff, they remain unhoused or freeze to death.
After working with the unhoused, it's become abundantly clear that those who don't want to support them instead want them dead.
There is blood on the hands of every government and organization that controls the homeless population with force instead of compassion.
i think it's so funny wehave like letters and whatever from Tolkien talking about how he fucked up with the orcs. it's ao funny

Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.
If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.
I'm gonna make a minor complaint about The Summer Hikaru Died (and really more a complaint about authors being so available on social media/commenting on every piece of their work), and that's the way the author has insisted that 'Hikaru' shouldn't be seen as a metaphor for human experience.
Because like, that's the obvious reading. Lots of people have talked about the "coming back different" as relating to coming out as queer, neurodivergence, pluralism--there's lots of ways it works as a metaphor!
And I appreciate the insistence that 'Hikaru' is his own person, but honestly, I would like the story to have handled things differently if we're supposed to take seriously the fact that og Hikaru is a real dead child. Especially 48-3: this works for a metaphor on a mother dealing with her son being different than she expected. This does NOT work for a mother who has a real dead son, even if she's also accepting the monster as a second son. She's been incredibly neglected as a character for that.
And idk, I'm sure it's my autism literalism, but anyone saying "don't interpret this in human terms!" bothers me. That's all we've got, comrade. If you're thinking it, it's in human terms. If you're imagining it, it's within human imagination. I relate to the idea of nonhuman too, but we need to be honest that it's a metaphor for difference and alienation. It's incredibly arrogant to act like you're so special you can transcend your physical reality in a way no other human can. We're running human hardware and software--human is all we've got, and however we try to explore other ideas, those ideas are still human, however unusual or non-normative. It can only be metaphor.
(goverment voice) we need to protect the children from pornography so our plan is to remove their eyes so they would never see something so traumatic. if you are against removing children's eyes you are basically a pedophile
Goddd I just keep circling back to feeling fundamentally alienated and like my way of experiencing reality is wrong and everyone else understands something that allows them to communicate and connect in ways I cannot
I think it is about getting hung up on not knowing what someone is trying to communicate (specifically about [trigger] here). But these are just internet posts so I can't have an actual conversation with these people, and every person irl I've had this conversation with hasn't really helped either.

the thing about the concept of gendered socialization is that so many people use it as like another kind of gender essentialism. you know it's not an immutable trait right. you can literally overcome it.
"i'm like this because women are socialized to be shy and quiet and subservient" okay good on you for recognizing it, but that's only the very first step. the next few steps are that you Stop Doing It. feminist thought vs feminist action.
and when ppl see a trans woman being confident and unafraid to take up space and decide it's because of her evil evil male socialization, i'm always like "wait you're saying this woman was raised as a child to be loud and confident and take up space? that's awesome, i thought that's how we WANTED people to raise girls? why exactly is it a problem now? 🤔"
like WHY are you telling trans women that they literally have to make themselves smaller and conform to the WORST gender exceptations of women to be seen as real women. since when is it evil and masculine to be confident, i thought we were supposed to be doing that. i thought that was feminism.

this post really attracted the lamest people in the fucking world
Submitting myself to the terrifying ordeal of hope
Idk y'all the world is full of bad things but kindness has brought me so much good. Every now and then I feel sad and then I think of all the happy things that are happening to someone in the world rn. Yes, bad things are happening too, but why should they deserve more focus than the good things? A new parent is overjoyed today because their baby was born, a trans girl is trying on her first dress and crying from joy, a kid is making their first friend at a new school, someone is succeeding in learning a different language, someone is hearing their favourite story for the first time, an artist is pouring their heart out on their new masterpiece, a musician is performing for the first time, someone just got approved for gender affirming care, someone else just proposed, someone is confessing how much they love someone else, someone is taking their first steps, someone is using a new mobility aid that will change their life.
Fight the bad things, but dont forget what you are fighting for
