Bullying and harassing actors because of fictional stuff is stupid
Game of Thrones is not a documentary. If you can’t distinguish between fiction and reality, seek professional help.
Notice how they’re all women. Notice how the oppression that women face in Westeros is not so different from the oppression women face in real life. Notice how the writers had Sansa say that rape made her stronger. Notice how the writers of Game of Thrones took the fantasy of women overcoming their past and killing their oppressors away from us.
Honey, two of these people were men. Slow your roll a little.
I agree with you though, women got it rough, and they deserve to have that voice heard loudly and often until it is actually listened to (Which it should be immediately, but people are assholes), that said, so do men. Daniel Portman was LITERALLY sexually assaulted by a fan, and you’re focusing on a fictional character’s rape?
Again, I get it, Sansa’s rape was fucky as hell (Just like ANY rape), and it showed a darker, much darker side of an already dark show, but it didn’t glamorize it all, it was Sansa showing EVERYONE that rape doesn’t break you, it doesn’t make you weak to feel the trauma of it, and that there IS light at the end of the tunnel, that it doesn’t make you useless, that you can fight the trauma and become stronger for it.
Feminism is about the equal treatment of all dear, not just cherrypicking a narrative. Lets not ignore all the voices at the table, including male victims.
