Rhodes Hill Sanatorium AU Locations: The Director's House

The campus provides housing for the staff so as to always have them close when needed. While most live in apartments in the staff building a separate house was built for all future directors of the sanatorium during the campus expansion in the 1900s.

Not some expansive mansion but that doesn't mean the place is small either. It was built with the original director and his large family in mind. Two floors not counting the cellar or the small attic, five bedrooms, two and a half bath, etc.

The outside is done up in the colonial revival style, red brick with white accents. A zombie gardener patrols the small, neat garden out front brandishing pruning shears. On the left hand side of the house is a padlocked hatch to the cellar, in the back is a small garden bed containing green herbs.

More recent renovations have been made to accommodate Gideon's residency. Namely the added height to the doors, the replacement of some dangling lights with ones built into the ceiling, larger bathroom fixtures and furniture, etc.

His bedroom is a mess of books and clothing. There is also a large terrarium built into the wall in which he keeps a large ball python, it looks as content as a snake can be.

While most of the other bedrooms have been relegated to storage one nearer to his has been prepared. Locks on the outside only, reinforced windows, several restraints strewn around the room. Wonder who it could be for? (Grace, Leon, reader, any combination of the three... who can say)

The kitchen almost seems normal if not for the bloody remains on the counter and a very mad zombie chef. Do yourself a favor and stay out of the freezer, this kitchen has been serving human meat long before the outbreak.

The cellar... well its a horror show. This is where the Leon interrogation scene would take place in the AU. Don't think I've got to say it but this is one of Gideon's stalking areas.

Rhodes Hill Sanatorium AU Locations: The Original Building

Was converted into the administrative building during campus expansion long before Gideon took over. This was sometime around the early 1900s.

Houses patient archives, clerk offices, and the security for the public facing party of the facility.

Patient quarters and treatment facilities are located in a different building, along with the secret laboratory. Basement of Administrative building is mostly normal utilities and backup generators.

There is however a secure door in the back of the basement, connecting the buildings to one another as well as the lab via old and winding tunnels.

A smaller kitchen/dining area for the staff and visitors, has one of now several chef zombies.

Full of mostly staff and security zombies, patient and doctor zombies are located in other buildings.

Another thought about the Rhodes Hill Sanatorium idea

Have you heard of Waverly Hill Sanatorium and its body chute? A 525 feet long underground downward sloping tunnel where bodies would be wheeled down from the sanatorium to the bottom of a hill where they would be collected for burial/cremation. Now imagine being Grace at the middle, in that cramped pitch void. Now imagine the sound of heavy footsteps either coming from the bottom or from the top. You can't see him but he's certainly seen you.
