Quentin turned and looked over at the brunette as she spoke. She seemed cold and that was only indicated by her words and prior to that, the wind that hit him when she had opened the door to come inside. “Here, step in a little, the heat hits better the farther away you get from that door.” He stepped aside, ushering her to move closer so she could warm up a bit more. Since Alice was busy, probably investigating, he figured the least he could do was talk to other people. As terrifying a notion as that could be. “It’s amazing. I mean, I’ve obviously never been to a real speakeasy but I’m gonna guess that this is pretty close.” The real action was at a distance, they could be heard over the music and that alone was nice. Just overlooking it all. “Are you going to get in there and dance?”
“Thank you.” She was eager to follow the advice, glad to get away from the biting wind and let the heat in the speakeasy wash over her for a while to rid her of the chill that worked its way into her bones. “I’m afraid I never was either, but it does remind me of some of the older bars in New Orleans. So that’s probably a good sign.” The place was jumping, and Hayley’s holiday mood was much improved by the sights and the music. “Oh...I think I’d have to be a little drunk first. My dancing is only slightly worse than my singing. How about you? Going to cut a rug, or whatever the 1920′s equivalent was?”
