A little worried about Erik. His breathing was whistling one night. I haven't heard it whistling since and there are no signs of mucus in his mouth. He didn't eat as well as he usually does this time.

I try to avoid posting too many Exotic Bullies, but good lord, how can I not? These are so grotesque! Just look at how they sit and hold themselves up (but barely), those are bodies in a prison for visual pleasure.

An update on our situation.

Today is the first, the day we are expected to leave. We’ve been trying very hard to find a new place but limited funds means limited options. Many places expect first month, last month, AND a security deposit. We’ve managed to collect about enough for first month’s rent and a deposit but that is just simply not enough to move into a new place. As it is my understanding, the law here states if rent is not paid by the first, we can be physically evicted by authorities on the 10th. Since paying for this month is not an option as we are neither safe nor welcome here, it appears we have hardly over a week to uncomfortably squat here until we find a new place. This is a problem enough on its own, but we also have two rescued feral kittens in our care to worry about.

This means we desperately need your help. We both are more than willing to take on more commissions from anyone willing to wait until we get settled into our new place before their piece is completed as our waking hours must be dedicated to searching for rooms to rent and/or apartments in the area. A few days ago, I managed to throw out my back and am in a constant agonizing pain that has rendered me damn near useless as far as moving things and walking around goes and this has really made things more difficult. We got me a back brace on credit yesterday and that has helped a little bit but I do not seem to be getting any better, only worse, and with everything else going on this is an incredibly frustrating new development. Not to mention the stress has caused my internal bleeding to return.

So here it is the 2nd and we’ve been served papers instructing that we leave before the 10th, so that time window has become official. My back is doing a little better with the brace but my internal bleeding has been worsening. We’re both suffering a depression that is making this entire process that much harder and we really appreciate every reblog and donation, no matter how small. This is the Extinct Species Graveyard at the Bronx Zoo in New York. The only “gravestone” not included in this post is that of the Labrador Duck.

I was very pleased to find this little display at the zoo even though some of the dates are inaccurate.
