— BIOGRAPHY
The Potts family doesn't bear a name worth mentioning. It is only thanks to Ian Potts that Crete and her siblings do not know what it means to have little. Ian Potts has a regular rags-to-riches story that involves a bright mind and a good sixth form dormitory buddy who became a best friend in uni. This uni friend happened to come from a good family. A friend who comes from a good family is much like a key. Doors began opening for Ian after graduation and with time, Ian Potts purchased a spot for himself among the better folk. It's still easy to spot an outsider: his speech is all wrong, he talks a little too freely, and he doesn't know how to hide insults into compliments. That means little now that he has more money than he ever could have imagined having and a beautiful family.
Crete Potts wasn't a difficult child by any means. She loved compliments. She loved being called a sweet girl or a well-behaved child. The compliments were music to her ears! She loved the contrast between herself and her two siblings who were a bit rough around the edges. It was almost too easy to appear angelic in the middle of the chaos. Well-behaved children usually grow up to be well-behaved adults. Crete was no exception. She studied well. Applied to uni in a timely manner and graduated in a timely manner. The only problem was that once she was done with her studies and suddenly had no one telling her what she was supposed to do next, she felt a little bit lost. She had a good degree, a useful degree, but absolutely no desire to put it into use. She found the world of business tiring. She had honestly hoped to start a family rather than a career after graduation. This wasn't something she was bold enough to say to people though. Her favourite professor helped her out in the beginning and she started working for the government. The few years she spent pushing papers helped her integrate into the work force. She actually felt a little bit inspired too. Successful projects gave her energy and motivation, failed projects made her lose her hair but at least they taught her some very good lessons. By accident she ended up working for Halston Cinemas as a consult. Green initiative had become so important in the film industry and whatnot. It was a fun little detour, she won't deny that. It allowed her to make connections she had wanted to make for some time. Her father had always been involved with the media industry but he had never been the social type and invitations to industry events came rarely and even more rarely did Thomas Potts attend. Crete was on her own, so to speak. This is another reason why she has a slightly warped view on herself and considers herself almost self-made. She moved onto different things for a while but she didn't leave Halston Cinemas without a small souvenir, which, in her case, was a relationship with the Bernard Alderidge. Compared to the Alderidges, the Potts family was a group of try-hard slobs. Just having money obviously wasn't enough. As Crete kept her eyes trained on Beatrice Alderidge, she realized how great the divide between the nouveau riche and the old money families was. Being the adaptable well-behaved woman she was, she did her best to tune her behaviour onto the correct frequency. Crete probably would have sold her left kidney in exchange of calling Beatrice Alderidge her mother-in-law. But things don't always work out as one would like them to. The pair called it quits after Crete realized any future she had envisioned in her head, had and would never cross Bernard's thoughts. She made sure to distance herself from the Comoedia Corp. and set out to find new projects. She worked here and there for a while but eventually became her father's unofficial secretary. The Bulletin Sports did not pay much of a salary officially but her father compensated her adequately. Her job description did not fit any regular one since she sometimes filled in for her father, sometimes delivered him food, sometimes took his calls. A little bit of everything. The important thing is that she got to know the people at the company. The Potts family had been involved with the company for good two decades or so, Crete felt fortunate to finally see what the company was like. The free tickets to sporting events and complimentary lunches and dinners did not hurt either. When her father's health began deteriorating in mid-2023, Crete became his official representative on the board of the company. She got married in early 2022. Was in a hurry to be a mom and managed to push out two kids in two years.

— RANDOM FACTS
has a horrible inferiority complex among the upper class. she feels like she doesn't fit no matter how hard she tries and no matter how well she follows the unspoken rules.
her west country accent was on the stronger side growing up but she did her best to get rid of it. now she has this weird unnatural sounding accent that borrows sounds from received pronunciation but still has some harsher 'r's. her speech slips into her childhood accent whenever she gets upset.
