So poll is done and Astral Pulse!Robert won by a wide margin. So now we enter the planning phase where I come up with how he's gonna work.
I have made some memes to commemorate the day
i've had this queued for an entire year, the most important holiday we celebrate here in boston HAPPY GREAT MOLASSES FLOOD DAY EVERYBODY
For no reason at all...
Cyborg!Robert
Astral Pulse!Robert
11 hours to go! I've been very good at not peeking at the results. Praise me!😁
Saw this and immediately went "Oh hi Robert"
Robert is explaining to the Z-Team why he won't let them help him

Ive been spitballing my flambert fic today...how do we feel about forced proximity 👀
For no reason at all...
Cyborg!Robert
Astral Pulse!Robert
Saw someone call Flambae a Twunk and I just can't. People please learn the terms before you use them.
I was just thinking, The Z-Team doesn't know Robert's exact relationship with Shroud. (And truthfully neither do we.) Like we know that he was at the bbq, that he helped create the Astral Pulse, and he at least considered Robbie a friend. So it's safe to say he was around Robert a lot(I'm going with Uncle Elliot for this post....maybe more of Papa). But Z-Team doesn't know that.
So after the game, the Z-Team expects Robert to be happy. He finally stopped the man who killed his father and got his revenge, but Robert just shuts down after having the time to process. Doubly so if he kills Shroud.
The team comes to his apartment to celebrate but they find him in a worse state than after he woke up from his coma. He hadn't been eating, and hasn't been taking care of himself in general. And he's just drunk. And of course Z-Team starts to freak out. Trying to figure what's wrong.
After some pushing, Robert just sort of rambles on and on. On just how much Elliot had meant to him growing up. On how much it hurt to find out about Elliot betrayal, to find out Elliot only goal was to steal the Astral pulse, how he set up a trap that left him in a coma, him being tortured by the Red Ring at Elliot's order, and of course the attack on LA (Plus the final decision). And he's calling him Elliott the whole time.
And the end Z-Team is left there standing there. Realizing that while for them this is a cause for celebration, for Robert it's something completely different. They realize just how much someone that Robert at one point in his life completely trusted betrayed him. Especially the person you decided to cut and Visi.
I've seen a lot of post about the Team meeting a deaged Robert, and I love them all buuuuuuut have you considered a deaged Robert right after having the suit attack him?
Like imagine, Robert having been deaged with all his injuries at the time. So the team just sees Robert with a newly injured ear and dislocated arm (Plus any injury you headcanon him having at the time. I know I have several)
They see a little Robert trying to force himself not to cry. Which is only compounded by being thrown into a new situation surrounded by strangers.
And meeting "Track Star' would just make things worse. I mean he just saw him. There's no way this oldman could actually be Chase, right?
So now the team has to deal a hurting, mistrustful, and confused baby Robert who won't let anyone near him to treat his injuries.
Hopefully for them Robert passes out soon.
So for those who don't know Critical Role had large part in Adhoc being able to make Dispatch. They funded Adhoc, after investors pulled out, and Adhoc is working on a game for them.
Now the reason I bring this up is because the CEO of Critical Role (and voice of Phenomaman) Travis Willingham is basically in conversations on how prioritize projects. He's on record saying he wants to see season 2 as soon as possible.
This is super good for us.

you’ve been working in the lab for hours Bobbie, take a break NOW
Oh no, you draw Robert so cutely! I love it! I want to squish his face.

Flambae: Truth or Dare?
Robert: Uhhh Truth
Flambae: How many hours have you slept this week?
Robert: ........
Flambae: ........
Robert: Dare
Flambae: Go to sleep!
Robert: I don't like this game
So yeah, Villain!Robert would definitely be required to wear a muzzle. Man is way to down bad for using his teeth in a fight and biting off digits. I'm going with kidnapped, by Shroud, baby Robert turned into a cyborg so he's not a "normie" but still fighting like feral gremlin.
Just imagine him being brought onto the Z-Team wearing a muzzle, and they're like what the fuck. (He's got into the Phoenix team since he was obviously brainwashed but still needs to pay for what he did. Lots of angst and stuff that needs to be dealt with)
Blazer and Chase say it's for everyone's protection. Robert just rolls his eyes, saying he only bites when necessary, but he does it everytime he gets out of the Mech.
Eventually he's allowed to go without it, but then Sardine happens, and now the team very well aware of why the muzzle was a thing, and a thing again for at least for 2 weeks.
Oh I can roll with that! Oh boy can I roll with that!!!
FeralRobert licking his lick and teeth as it's taken out, massaging his jaw. Looking at everyone with a glare because he doesn't like his muzzle. It's dug grooves into his nose and sometimes when he's allowed to take it off around other people he thinks that he almost looks like a first responder after a hard shift.
Come to think of it he used to want to be a doctor before everything went to shit... Sometimes he can pretend he was.
You know the rest of the Z Team would rag on him for his biting people thing. They would totally put up little warning signs around the office or on his locker.
@sunnyfrenchfry just seeing this are now, I love it so much thank you for the addition!
@marciellesmusings Oh the teasing would be non-stop! So many new nicknames would form.....and for a bit of angst a little protectiveness when they find out it's also to protect him from himself as suggested by someone else
@crimson-hope
Villain Robert actually being loved by the children because he can sensed if an adult had done them wrong. So when he bit off the mayor's hand (the team still have no idea how he got the muzzle off) and was about to be reprimanded, when the mayor's 14 year old daughter quietly admitted that her father had hit her when she failed a mock exam and had left a nasty bruise. Also is Beef is this au? I feel like Beef is Robert's emotional support animal and will growled at anyone who dares placed a muzzle on his friend's face.
Lol I can see that happening. Since in my mind Robert was kidnapped by Shroud after his dad was killed, so he's been around villains for way too long, so he's go5 a nose for them. Especially ones that hurt kids, cause even if he's terrible, Shroud doesn't play with creep.
@crimson-hope Is Beef in this au?
Beef is a requirement not a choice!
