There are many physiology reasons as to why she has changed so drastically, similarly to humans, demon women experience the visible symptoms of pregnancy too.

She appears tired because she is, and not from the usual pregnancy discomforts, but because demons have a very high healing and regeneration factor (not immediate, just a few days for very serious injuries) however, this changes during pregnancy as this ability is directed mainly towards growing the baby, leaving the mother weak and vulnerable.

HOWEVER! Despite this physical weakness, Melody is extremely stubborn and resilient, so she has to be constantly reminded that she's growing a life inside of her

The spirit is willing, but the flesh it weak, I suppose 😅
