Hello Mason lovers! We reached over 200 followers a few months ago and we are over the moon about it! It's all thanks to you. Mason Appreciation would never exist without our dear followers and every person who kindly reblogs our content, or participates in our events.
Speaking of, due to some life obligations, the mods won't be able to organize a proper Mason Appreciation week for March 2025. But fear not! Mason Appreciation week will simply become three day event: Mason Appreciation Weekend.

Mason stopped by the front door to the clinic. “You don’t have to come.”
Corey frowned.
Face softening, Mason took a step toward him. “I am not saying I don’t want you to come. But if you do, I want … you said that you didn’t want anything to do with this anymore.”
Shifting from one foot to another, Corey made an effort to change his expression. “I don’t.”
“Then you shouldn’t.”
“But …”
Mason waited for Corey to continue.
“But you will, and I want to be with you.”
“I … I don’t have to go. We can do something else.”
“Mason, you’re really smart.”
Sighing, Mason opened his mouth but before he could say anything, Corey put shushed him by gently putting covering it with hand.
“You’re going to say I’m as smart as you, but that’s not true and we both know it. You’re smart because when there’s something you don’t understand, you work so you can understand it. That’s why you’re coming here, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Me, I’d feel better if all this went away, but we both know it’s not going away. Monroe is still out there. The Wild Hunt is still out there.”
Biting his lip, Mason nodded reluctantly.
“So I’m not here just for you. I’m doing this for me, too.”
Mason smiled warmly at him. “Then, let’s go.”

also i love liam and mason best friendism because when mason called out liam for hiding something from him liam really responded with “look dude don’t you have to go be gay. it’s warm out today the soccer team will be shirtless. yeah go ogle some shirtless dudes” and it actually worked

Sexuality Headcanon: gay and he knew it from day one, there was never any questioning it or a big coming out
Gender Headcanon: i feel like when he learned about trans people he went through a few months of am i....??? but eventually came to the conclusion that he probably isnt. Might change his pronouns to he/they in college tho
A ship I have with said character: well him and corey obviously, but I do understand people that ship him with liam. Not in an endgame way but i think its very possible that they kissed at least once, maybe when liam started figuring out his own sexuality.
Also like i said in this post, corey and mason collectively deciding they want to date Brett too is just awesome
A BROTP I have with said character: him and lydia!! I think he idolizes her a lot and when she starts college he asks her soo many questions about her courses and campus life and everything. Theyre also the ones that exchange the most dry looks at pack hangouts. And when they all play mario kart together Lydia will use Mason as her joker and switch him in to play for her just so he can beat Stiles. Same with board games; theyll team up together and they WILL win no matter the cost.
A NOTP I have with said character: hmm i cant really see him with most other characters. Malia would definitely make the least sense but then again i dont think any woman makes sense for him.
A random headcanon: Heee fucking loves snow. Hes the biggest snow fan youll meet. Hes so sad he lives somewhere it doesnt snow. Hes the first to petition for the pack to get a little farm house somewhere further up north, and he succeeds because Malia gets unexpectedly invested and also starts pestering everyone about it. The pack spends every winter holiday and christmas up there. They make snow people building contests and Scott walks around giving everyone funky names and hats. They start up a weird hat collection over the years because everyone keeps bringing new funny hats to the house. Theo would act like one of those dogs that jumps around catching snowballs with his mouth all day when hes full-shifted. Argent will make his throws more and more difficult to catch and Theo will definitely take it as a challenge. In the evenings they sit around the fireplace and Mason sometimes pulls out his guitar to play a few soft tunes.
General Opinion over said character: i like him a lot!! Hes a very entertaining character and hes really the perfect best friend for Liam. I wish theyd focused more on him when he was the Beast tho. I keep forgetting that was actually him. Id love to see how that affected him long term, maybe even with some physical leftover abilities or something? It's just never really brought up again after.

Mason Hewitt - Iconic Asterisk
Iconic Asterisk is an Arabian Stallion with a cream-diluted golden bay coat and a twin pinto pattern. He's curious and high-spirited, but fairly easy to handle. Mason and Iconic Asterisk compete in Cross Country!
Corey Bryant - Silent Spy
Spy is a Selle Français mare with a tovero patterned blood bay coat. She's a very energetic horse and can't handle just walking down a flat stretch of land, she needs to gallop or at least trot. Corey and Silent Spy compete in Steeplechase!
Hayden Romero - Expensive Experience
Expensive Experience is a Classic Chestnut Thoroughbred mare with a splash white face marking. She's a splendid race partner and will keep toppling over everyone's expectations. Hayden and Expensive Experience compete in Flat Racing!
Brett Talbot - Smoky Spirit
Smoky Spirit is a Selle Français mare with a grey-diluted blood baby coat. She has a laid-back personality for a show jumper but that doesn't stop her from winning. Brett and Smoky Spirit compete in Show Jumping!
Lori Rohr - Evening Glory
Evening Glory is a Thoroughbred mare with a grey-diluted, classic bay coat with dapples all over. She's an off-track Thoroughbred with a knack for getting out of whatever she's put it (stalls, blankets, paddocks, she can break out of it all). Lori and Evening Glory compete in Show Jumping!
The ghosting touch dragged along Mason’s arm, sending shivers down his spine. His arm now covered in goosebumps, words heavy on his tongue while trying to make sense of what was happening. He couldn’t see anything or anyone and Corey wasn’t home, so he thought.
He reached his arm out, his fingers barely grazing the phone. In a second he was being dragged back, his stomach brushing against the carpet. “Stop!” He kicked his leg but it did little to stop the invisible figure from continuing, its hands now pinning Mason’s arms beside him. “Let go of me!”
They are one of the healthiest and most stable couples in the series and in my opinion no one gives them much thought because it's not an epic or tragic love like most other relationships, they are just... two boys in love.
Mason manages to bring Corey out of his metaphorical and non-metaphorical "invisibility". He helps him study and in general express his full potential, Mason is Corey's number one fan and wants him to succeed in every way possible.
Corey on the other hand is calm, quiet and in my opinion helps Mason relax and understand that there is nothing wrong with not ALWAYS having a solution or not always being 100% even if that's what everyone else often expects from him.
They just... fall in love, in the least favorable context possible (Liam initially opposes them a lot and it's perhaps one of the few situations in which we see Liam and Mason "clash") and they do it so slowly and sweetly that it's almost unnoticeable.
The locker room scene? Stay alive with me? Corey is not a coward and he's not even some kind of inept, Corey is actually just a bit like Theo in the sense that he initially has a different ethical evaluation (probably because of how he grew up/his education) and despite this, while Mason very rationally defends his integrity (I don't want to stay alive with the bad guys) Corey is like "Yeah but I love you so I don't care what side I'm on as long as you're there too" and that's actually such a powerful thing to say.
And then what actually happens is that Mason teaches Corey how much better it is to be on the good guys' side but Corey teaches Mason that sometimes it doesn't matter what side you're on but who you're with.
Corey sees Mason simply for what he is outside his "facade" and Mason has never tried to change Corey, but only to love him as he is, which is what paradoxically makes everything change.
Theirs is a very psychological and "mature" love compared to, for example, Theo and Liam, very emotional/impulsive, to Scott and Allison who are pure teenage love or even to Stiles and Lydia who have a long history behind them before love.
It's all very much played on diametrically opposed personalities/life experiences (technically they are in two different factions for a good part of the time) and on the fact that people can spontaneously evolve into each other and grow without there necessarily being friction/tension.
They are simply in love, compared to everyone else, and that is enough to put everything else in order.
Out of all the teen wolf couples, who gets married first?
100% Morey 🥺 they’re such babies I can picture Mason being all crazy planning while Corey just goes with the flow, he doesn’t care as long as Mason’s happy and he gets to be his husband.
What video games do you think the puppy pack would play?
Like I think Corey would be an avid Sims player but not in a peaceful way, in the way all Sims players play - death in the pool and a man dungeon in the basement.
Liam and Mason play cod (I think that canon or at least canon adjacent) but I think Mason would love GTA and planning all the heists and Liam just joins later after everything's set up. In the meantime Liam is playing hello kitty island adventure or world of warcraft.
Theo obviously knows nothing about video games given the grew up in the sewers thing but he would be infuriatingly good at Mario kart (Liam refuses to talk to him after his 6th loss in a row)
Hayden is the best stardew valley player in the pack and has married all of the bacholors in the game at least once in her save file she also plays halo avidly.

Finding himself bored and lonely on a beach vacation, Mason goes searching-and finds more than he expected

I figured I'd pseudo combine two of the prompts:
-Something in the water
-Vacation stuff at the seaside
I honestly love Stiles/Mason, so I enjoyed getting the chance to try writing them.

Mason sighed as he rubbed his towel again over his face again, trying to clear away the lingering mix of saltwater and sand.
He had looked forward to this beach trip when they first started planning, but he didn't expect it to turn into a pseudo couples' trip.
If he and Corey were still a thing, maybe it wouldn’t feel so awkward. But they weren’t. They hadn’t been for a while now. Broke up not long into freshman year. Different schools. Different lives. Still friends, but that's it. Heck, he didn't even bother coming back this summer, having apparently moved in with his current boyfriend. Mason wasn't jealous, but it still would have been nice to not be the odd man out.
Mason had tried dating over the past couple of years, but there's still been no one that caught Mason's eye long enough to bring back to meet the pack.
Now he was here watching (almost) everyone pair off, and it was starting to get a little depressing.
The first few hours had been enjoyable. Everyone was high-energy, half-wild from the freedom of being near the ocean. They’d splashed each other in the shallows. Played a messy, overly competitive game of beach volleyball (Theo cheated, obviously, and they had to stop Malia from retaliating with violence). They had even built a very questionable sandcastle that somehow ended up with fangs. There had been a lot of fun and laughter for everyone.
But then Scott and Malia had challenged Liam and Theo to a game of chicken. It was entertaining to watch for a while, but it made Mason feel very much like a fifth wheel.
He could join Lydia, afterall, she's single, too. However, she had already informed everyone that she was settling into her book and did not want to be disturbed for the next little while. Mason was low key terrified of the beautiful banshee, so he was not going to be the one to interrupt her quiet time.
That left the only other single person of the group: Stiles.
Mason had always had a small crush on Stiles, even back in high school, but seeing him again after a few years in college. Yeah, that crush had definitely grown.
Maybe it was the added scruff that now grew on his cheeks, or the way he filled out his clothes more. Or maybe it was the way his now shaggy hair curled just right around his ears.
All of Mason's guy friends were pretty attractive—being hot seemed like an unspoken requirement for Pack membership—but there was something about Stiles that short-circuited his brain in a very specific way.
For one, he was the only guy Mason knew who still had actual chest hair. Not just a few wisps, but a whole damn trail leading down from a solid patch at the center of his chest, disappearing under the waistband of his swim trunks like a promise. And Mason, unfortunately, had the kind of mind that got very curious about that kind of promise.
