Went onto Pinterest, got some tam and glimmer fanart (uh oh) decided to check the comment WHY is there a huge thread of people defending this.. glimmer is like 25 (over 22 minimum) and tam is 16????? the Alden Della argument doesn’t work because Della is also probably 100+?? She was hopefully not 16 and Alden was 116 like hello. She for sure was a grown adult. And it DOESNT MATTER because tam is still a child and glimmer is a grown woman (she’s just a bit younger than Wylie). rip kotlc pin. i can’t smh

It’s the same problem as Wylinh. When people use the Della and Alden excuse it’s like, that actually only works if both people in question are adults with full agency and ability to consent. We aren’t saying Wylie and Linh or Tam and Glimmer could NEVER IN HISTORY be a couple, we’re saying that as long as an they’re an ADULT AND MINOR, the relationship would be inherently predatory.

And somehow people still manage to not get that.

I try to explain it like, “imagine a human is 15 and another human is 20. That’s a hugely problematic age gap. Now, if your parents are 40 and 45, that still doesn’t make it okay for the 20 and 15 year old date. When they’re 20 and 25, or 25 and 30, it’ll be another story.” Sometimes it works.
