ppl w adhd and autism reblog and add what texture is so awful it haunts your dreams its okay if its incredibly specific ill go first: scratching my nails on a car
that really cheap, tightly woven, plasticy polyester fabric that some sheets and tablecloths and certain dress shirts are made of. the kind where the creases from being folded stick up forever. it’s not quite the texture of a tarp or a dropcloth, it’s obviously woven, but something about it just feels different enough from ‘real’ fabric that i don’t want it to touch my skin.
Bland onions and herbs in broth and chalk on blackboard
Frosted glass, those colorful translucent plastic tumblers textured to look like frosted glass that every household with little kids seems to have and always serves me water in (which if this were Ancient Greece I would perceive as a grotesque violation of xenia), metal scraping against metal, toe seams on cotton socks.
Oh! And this particular blanket from every hotel bed:
Beans, just any beans. Oh and raw tomatoes. And the satin that’s too short so when you push it upwards to try to stim with it, it rejects the push and you’re left with your skin screaming for a different texture asap
That fake, plasticity leather that sticks together when you move, those paper gowns at hospitals, and mud that dries on my skin so it’s stuck and dusty and just.
