I'm loving Between the Sheets. I can actually find time to watch it occasionally, and the interviews are really interesting. Marisha and Matt were super open about some really personal stuff. Credit to them for being willing to have those conversations.
Seriously. Can you imagine if a new democracy were being set up and one party pushed for rural votes (which, not coincidentally, happen to be where they hold power) to be worth way more than urban votes (where their opponent has more power)? We would be so critical of that setup. We would call it corrupt.

The US pretending to bring democracy to other countries is so funny when we vote on a non-holiday workday where people can wait up to six hours for a machine that may record their vote incorrectly to defeat a minority party that controls all three branches of government.

I find it truly horrifying that the Kavanaugh hearing brought Republicans together. Like, a dude is credibly accused of sexual assault and then demonstrates that he definitely doesn't have the right temperament for the Supreme Court, and Democrats objecting to these two facts when considering a LIFETIME appointment to the highest court in the nation offends Republicans so much that they turn out for people they might not have voted for otherwise. Like, wow. Truly wow.

Any first time voters out there?
I'm really hoping the youth vote shows up in numbers never before seen. If young people vote in percentages equal to the olds, they can remake politics in this country. They can put the issues that matter to them front and center.
