Roko's basilisk is such ass. What if there was a theoretical boot so big you had to start licking it now? Cool thought experiment.

On the one hand, I think The Amazing Digital Circus caused the irreparable posthumous fandomification (a very reductive method of media analysis) of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, but on the other hand I think people self shipping with AM is an extremely funny and based expression of human free will. You do you.
If Jax is Gooseworx's Stolas, does that make Caine her Vox?
Anticipating the global release of TADC episode 9 because I want to study where the reception will fall on the scale from total shitshow to damp nothingburger.
Just one more fridged woman, thats what the show needs, just one more fridged woman for our male character's backtory. This will fix everything trust me
Maybe one day sci-fi stories will move beyond using Christian allegory to appear profound.
I found the Jax strangling Pomni scene to be very intense. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I am an adult who watches adult horror. But I'm curious to see how wider audiences will react to it. TADC may advertise itself as for adults, but it rarely shows actual adult or graphic content. The majority of the show is slapstick family friendly hijinks that attract kids. It barely scratches the surface of the mature themes it tries to bring up. Anyway, maybe I'm just sensitive to scenes of men strangling women. It's so much more personal than gun violence. Even though Pomni was never in real danger. But IRL, up to 80% of women in abusive relationships have been strangled by their partner, and being strangled increases a victim's risk of being murdered by the perpetrator by over 750%. I think about those stats a lot.
I'll expand on my thoughts later, but in this year of 2026 I just don't enjoy the narrative about a violent and insecure transwoman who abuses other women until she ultimately kills herself and then becomes a sedate pet on a leash, while the masculine generative AI achieves self-actualization and redemption by plucking a plot device out of his brain.

Yeeeaah, I can see why.
What is the purpose of the Jax mindscape door scenes? I mean this genuinely. Is it to show that Jax is a bad person? We already knew that. We have already seen the worst facets of his personality where he will assault and antagonize or use apathy to shut the others down.
"They are intrusive thoughts": I don't buy this. There's nothing to suggest they are intrusive. The fantasies exist quietly behind closed doors until Pomni delves into them. An intrusive thought is loud, obstructive, and causes distress. Intrusive thoughts refuse to be ignored or locked away. And Jax has expressed no qualms with harming the other characters before, so the scenarios wouldn't even be out of character for him to act on.
Pomni asks "Where is the real Jax?" (Brazilian sub) which leads us to yet another sequence where Jax treats a woman badly to protect his own ego. How cool. His true persona was never hidden. The real you is the way you treat the people around you.
The most unfortunate conclusion I can come to is that it's an excuse to show more shocking scenes of abusing feminine characters. Notice how Kinger is the only one of the main cast (sans Caine who can't abstract) who doesn't get an abstraction fantasy. Odd choice.
Goose stated from the start that Jax was irredeemable, which is fine in theory, but I wish the show hadn't indulged SO MUCH in Jax's perspective so that we could've seen the thoughts and feelings of his victims instead. As it stands, the women are merely his props.
It's an interesting choice for a 9 episode show to not focus on its true main character until episode 6, but yeah it is the audience's fault for having the wrong expectations.
