Something that I absolutely adore with the Heartstopper adaptation is how they made the kiss scenes feel passionate without making them sexualized

The graphic novels already did a good job with this, but it’s really refreshing to see a teen couple on television kissing without feeling a) uncomfortable as hell or b) like I’m about to witness an unwanted sex scene. Most young adult kiss scenes always want to go the extra mile to convey how “passionate” the kisses are. But luckily, Heartstopper doesn’t need to do all that.

There’s no wall slamming. Or ass grabbing. Or annoying moaning or panting. Or a single flash of tongue.

Nothing but soft yet firm lip locks and warm embraces.
