This is the last post I’ll make re: VLD S8

I agree with the speculation that the end credits scene were a last-minute addition. JDS and LM care too much about the show - and Shiro as a character - to give him such an abrupt ending which almost seemed like an afterthought.

Kihyun Ryu didn’t start drawing Shiro’s end credits scene until Sept. 13, 2018 which supports this claim.

LM has previously made comments that for a romantic relationship to be incorporated in the show, it has to happen organically.

We have seen this with Lance and Allura; they developed both as individuals and as a couple throughout the whole series. Lance has grown as a paladin, matured as a person and learned that love is not a prize to be won but something to be valued. This is why it took so long for them to get together.

Similarly, Allura has matured, but in a different way - understanding that everything is not as black and white as they may seem and that there is strength in vulnerability.

We also see this development between Keith and Shiro. Keith who was branded as a reckless “hothead” grew to be the level-headed leader of Voltron - and the Galra if he wanted to. Shiro who looked formidable at first showed that he is not as indomitable as he seems.

They also have the strongest bond throughout the series. JDS wrote ‘The Black Paladins’ so no one understands the strength of their bond or the importance of their relationship more than he does.

I am not sure what happened behind the scenes or what decisions were made but the end credits definitely felt disjointed from the last scene when the lions and their paladins bid each other farewell and the post-credits scene where the lions make their way to Allura. I agree with @appreciateshiro/ @paintedrecs; I believe that this is the ending JDS and LM wanted for us. So this is how I’m choosing to remember Voltron.

observing those frames we also realized that in the frame where Shiro is being Keith, the left half of his body is just curiously

see given Shiro’s body and his position we should see the end of his arm going further than Keith’s head

and it would make so much sense for them to be so close like this in this frame, because they couldn’t completely remove it

also just look at that slow pan going directly from Shiro to reveal Keith in front of him that slow pan remind me very clearly of the one over Keith’s body when Shiro was a stuttering mess over him in s6 it looks so weird in the gif, you notice even more the void where Shiro’s arm should be now onto WHY they would have had to remove it if you’ve seen s8 then you know how weird they both were, almost like amical strangers there is nothing confirmed yet so take it with a grain of salt, but given the strange flow of some sequences, we think some scenes might have been cut or modified It’s very clear that their bond was reduced to inexistant when it should have been the total opposite based on everything that happened between them, hos their relationship peaked during s7ep1 but in the course of erasing and hiding their bond (canonically the strongest and the driving force of most of the show) they also were ripped of their identity that tells you just how deep their bond is rooted for both of them by now you all know the awful rushed epilogue we got then just think, how would they explain the epilogue if they were as close as this scene depict, the last scene before the epilogue you know what makes me say it might really be what happened? that slow pan feel way to soft and intimate and insistant that pan goes from Shiro, while not seeing his arm but his shoulder, and slowly pan to reveal Keith until we can see his left shoulder no shorter, no longer it’s framed exactly to see and look at his shoulder your eyes are kind of drown there in a way it stop just right at the perfect moment to quickly see Keith’s shoulder wanna hear one last thing? this shot

now that it’s printed in my eyes i see exactly why everyone directly thought of about the same thing they are indeed closer to each other than the other paladins but they also are the only ones with their hand not hanging against their body, i see how the hands are curiously tilted almost everyone saw it and jumped to make edits like this one (link: here )
