PERFORMANCE CROSSINGS 2021

𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 2021 ••• international

▎Performance Crossings 2021 is the fifth edition of an international festival of performance art.

••• 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 2021 International is the result of more than a year and a half of collaboration between a curatorial team and a dozen artists from Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and other countries. This cooperation is framed by the coexistence of the most fundamental moments of the pandemic situation as well as by the search for alternative ways of artistic (re)presentation at a distance. The whole process and theoretical reflection of the year 2020 is archived in the festival publication REMOTE PERFORMANCE ART.

▰ For us, the year 2021 is a moment when the relationships we have built through digital platforms will materialize in physical interaction. It is also a milestone in the transformation process of the artists and curators, and of the festival itself. This period of time is crucial for rediscovering the meaning and role of similar performative events and for resuming functioning in cultural space-time.

Beautiful Confusion Collective & Cross Attic invites you to reflective time-space of Movement/Architecture: 𝘼𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙨

▝▘ Navigating the pandemic city has sometimes felt like playing a mad game of pinball: in constant motion, we’re unable to come to rest, less locked down than locked out. Which doors open to us and which ones don’t? The ones that don’t, will they do so again? Or are their interiors lost to us forever, because the lease is up, the relationship is over, the job is done, that person doesn’t live there anymore?

▙▗ Join us for a live puzzling out of complex matters related to inside and out, access and inaccessibility. Reflections on interior and exterior space from architects, urbanists and philosophers juxtapose with photographs and personal stories - mine and yours, shared anonymously in real time - across a duration installation. A different kind of Advent reflection at home, or on the run, for three minute, or 3 hours.

Ester Grohová & kol. ~ Safe space

Audiovisual artist Ester Grohová together with her fellow artists will transform the venue of Cross Attic into a safe environment. SAFE SPACE is a prototype of a participatory installation & artist-run community space that works with the topics of care & solidarity.

Tereza Silon & Zeynab Gueye ~ Laments 4 love they've not known (yet)

Zeynab Gueye and Tereza Silon create space and interactions in which love flows back and forth between the personal and the planetary/collective. Sometimes, these positions strengthen each other, sometimes they are in a complex relationship. Laments are rituals for the love that we wish for but remain unsure about possibilities of its existence in the current systems.

Ran Jiao ~ I Was Naked When I Met the Spider

I Was Naked When I Met the Spider is a solo performance on encounters with the otherworldly. An unexpected meeting with a spider frees a human mind from the everyday and sheds light on the path towards another dimension. Vulnerability and generosity are the keys to this journey. While a human body seeks to embody a spider, she sees the life of a glass of water, the tree of fire, dust in the cosmos, and an asteroid named Arachne. The encounter with/as an “alien” species echoes the artist’s experience of living on a foreign land. The spider is the Other, and so is she. The performance explores, through the body, clothes, and everyday objects/materials, the deep listening and imagination of an unspoken story.

TEATR NOVOGO FRONTA se vrací s novou premiérou na půdu Cross Clubu.

Divadelní a taneční skupina TEATR NOVOGO FRONTA, etablovaná na poli fyzického a pohybového divadla, poprvé spolupracuje s tvůrci zaměřujícími se na současnou progresivní činohru. Novou hru s názvem Objektivně je potřeba hrabat písek uvedou tvůrci 22. - 25. října v Cross Attic.
